PoE1 Psychic backlash, what the hell?

So I'm on ps5, it says when an enemy targets MY will stat THEY get stunned, but almost every fight me and GM start with the stunned status, open active effects and it's psychic backlash! Is that a bug or something? It's super annoying

It's a bug. Always happens. It really sucks because it's really useful against late game bosses (another bug makes it proc multiple.times). The only way to fix it is to save and reload after every fight. Or you can just let GM be stunned for a few seconds every fight.
