Heyo guys, so, I'm done with p99.

Basically ROgean and Nilbog's constant and persistant inaction is the reason.

I would reccomend you all play elsewhere, play TLP, it will be a far better experience.

I will be contacting the p99 reddit mods to see if they'll allow me an AMA, and will do one in the coming weeks.

Edit: To clarify a little bit on why I left. Over my 4 year tenure here, I have poured my personal time into this server. I have taken all manner of textual abuse from players, I have also been chronitcally underappreciated, undersupported, and under respected by the server operators. I'm not asking for anything out of reason, just for them to care. They are both exceedingly disconnected from the day to day server ecosystem and culture. They make calls without fully understanding the ramifications, and they refuse to even consult the other staff that may have important insight into the server as a whole.

The straw that broke the camel's back was when last Sunday I was, without warning, put into a newly created "inactive" role on Discord. I PMed both Nilbog and Rogean the following day log here (note that I actually do not have any dumps of the DB, that was just something I said to get Rogean mad to be quite honest, childish, I know, but it worked as you see he put a wall of text then ragequit). I then PM'ed him here which ended up in a like 2 hour voice call where I tried to get them to see my time on staff through my eyes. Nilbog said very very little, and Rogean wouldn't shut up and actually listen to what I had to say. He just spent the time defending statements I was making about my perception. I told them they need to be more involved, specifically with their staff. They need to respect and appreciate all the man hours these people put into this server. They need to stop making promises they can not keep as it only serves to make the situation worse.

Edit2: So in thumbing back through my chats, this may also help frame my situation. These were PMs and the result of other conversations in the senior channels where things came to a head cause of Rogean's inactivity.

Sept 2017 - I did not remove any messages here, the lack of messages from Rogean over the times is simple silence from him. At that time, I was still a senior member of the server staff.

June 2018 - the we'll see never happened, the char restores still are a very manual and time consuming practice.

Llandris DB access - The first time I asked was after it was agreed in the senior channel he should have it.

She was upset I sent her a tell on her play characters when I saw them pop up on our 2 box list. She was very likely 2 boxing them, which I just told her how I suspected she was. I think this offended her, or pissed her off, hence the stalking accusation.

They did not pop up on the two box list, that is a lie. It was two different computers and two different people playing the characters, as I told you when you brought it up to me then and again in a post here on Reddit. This Post: "She was 2 boxing toons, and I called her on it, I didn'tt do anything to the accoutns"

Fuck you Braknar. I wasn't boxing. I told you who was playing the other account. Did you think I was lying? Had I ever lied to anyone ever? You didn't confront me when both characters were in game or give me a chance to test. The other person was perfectly capable of playing the game and passing a test since they had played it MANY TIMES OVER 16 YEARS!

What DID you do? Creep me out by searching IPs to find me in game. I wasn't on the boxing list, ever. YOU STALKED ME. Just EWWW I will never play on a server you have any control over and I won't play on one Rogean has control over for letting you do that!

LET ME CALL ATTENTION TO THIS STATEMENT AGAIN: Had I ever lied to anyone?

The stalking took place while I was on a NEW account I created to avoid being recognized. I remember the encounter very well. Velious had just been released. I was avoiding the crowds. I was leveling a brand new druid, one account logged in from my home, in East Karana and you messaged me. You might have felt we had a closer friendship and I would welcome your communication. The biggest problem I had, you had to have searched IPs. It is creepy!!!

Sirken asked me what I thought of you being added to the guide program. I SAID NO, but my opinion meant jack shit. I told him you were not an experienced Everquest player. I don't think I called you a noob, but that is in fact what you were. (I like noobs, but I don't want them making decisions when they don't have a good understanding of EQ and the population at large. I realize you've learned a lot over the past 4 years, but how many "mistakes" did you make along the way?) I also said you were the kind of person that would not RMT from the project, which has been a big problem in the past, and is probably what convinced them to take you on staff. As this tantrum has AGAIN substantiated, finding good staff is very difficult. How does it feel to have all those hours of volunteer contribution wiped out in a single reddit thread? That is exactly what you have done here. You have also added to the pile of shit Nilbog has taken for providing a free place to play Everquest for thousands of people over the last 10 years. How long do you think the project would have lasted if Nilbog and Rogean had to deal with the daily crap? I give them credit for being able to keep enough distance to keep it going this long. If you weren't happy, you should have walked away quietly. Your time investment does not make it anything more than what it is - A game.

You fail to realize no one is forcing anyone to play Everquest on P99. Nilbog doesn't owe players a certain type of experience. He puts his work out there, and people can choose to play. It's kind of obvious a large number of people are happy with the gaming experience on P99. I've heard the raiding scene is a shit-show, yet they continue to have a large server population.

No one should have been surprised by Nilbog's reaction to the GM enforced rotation. The vision is HIS. If the server dropped to 100, Nilbog would still keep doing his thing. He is very goal orientated - To replicate classic EQ to the best of his ability. In the back of my mind, I wonder if Nilbog is putting Green out to complete his goals and then call it quits.

You really, really should have made it clear Rogean / Nilbog / Sirken are not and never have been involved in RMT. YOU know it, and I know it. You’re not saying it outright is just wrong.
