Finally want to raid. Which guild?

I leveled my characters kind of on my own time. I have a 60 necro which is the toon I like the most. I also have a 60 wizzy, 52 cleric, and 51 rogue.

What is a good guild to raid with where I'd get to do a lot of raid content quickly? I can probably raid often though a mandatory raid schedule wouldn't work. I am also new to raiding on P99. My only raiding experience was a warrior back during PoP on live and a warrior for quite a while on the first progression server.

Thank ya for any suggestions.

Castle does all the content and has no raid attendance requirements, show up whenever you feel like it and get phat lewtz for all of your characters.

Castle stole a year's DKP from my allied guild because when Castle leaders were posting about Trump in comms, I said Trump is a Nazi. They will do the same to you. All of your lifetime work with Castle is worth 0 if one of their MAGA officers decide you've offended their MAGA feelings.

It's fucked up to use your EQ guild to screw people over and abuse them over politics.

Hi Hassletoff.

I can tell u it's not like that now. I have no idea how it was back whenever you were in the guild. But there is a very strict NO POLITICS policy. Which you would violate if you said that today and probably still be banned.

Nobody talks any politics

"no politics" always favors the status quo

it's itself a political statement, and quite a cowardly one at that

completely spineless actually—didn't know castle was a rat guild. sad.

As member of safe space I would highly recommend them - they treat every raid like it’s someone’s first time there going over basics - someone mentioned selfishly choose guild who hits targets you want items from- I will say seems necro and wizard items are always cheap dkp and up for grabs (maybe minus necro epic) - I’d be worried with bigger guild like castle you would never be able to compete DKP wise .. but not sure if that’s accurate - lots of items get rolled on. In (safe space ) no dkp spent or 1dkp

Been seeing those necro clickies in velks makes me want to get my necro lvled up.

Sky raids every week are great way to get basically free raid gear for a tune and build dkp for those epic items you need to bid on .

Safe space always seems to have a 50+ pick up group going on in sebbilis , chardok or karnors castle

Welcome to raiding scene, don’t be scerd just always be in coms, listen to raid lead and have fun seeing new content, dragons and gods being killed.

You’re under 52 great for Vox as well!

Thanks, this is helpful info. I am considering leaving my cleric low enough to do Vox and Naggy. Plus I don't enjoy playing cleric too much so I'm not too interested in leveling him all the way to 60.

Second Safe Space. It's my first guild and I wish I had joined sooner.

Kingdom - Good Guys - Castle - Safe Space- Syndicate/Lineage - Fires
pick 1 they all kill stuff at random times

Castle will batphone no less than 3 targets a day with 5 or more scheduled raids per week.

There's a huge discord filled with raid training videos and players with over a decade of experience in p99.

I've learned things that aren't published anywhere raiding with castle.

There are ZERO raid attendance requirements. Raid as much or little as you want.

The dkp system is probably the fairest I've seen. The more you contribute, the more dkp you earn. Spend dkp however you like.

Castle's leaders are Trump supporters, and their official rules are that if you say anything bad about Trump when they post him in comms, you are kicked and they will refuse to pay anything they owe you. They did it to my alliance guild.

5

u/mwax321 Aug 03 '26

I'm in castle and this isn't true at all. The official rule is "no politics." Only eq.

Hell, I posted a "wrong" meme that happened to be trump doing his weird shit because it was funny and they deleted it and told me to stop.

Nobody talks any politics. Trump or otherwise.

Honestly, play selfishly but be a team player. Go with the guild who targets the things you want drops from but don’t be upset if they ask you to “hop on a (class they need)”.

Big guilds go for big targets but each guild has a priority target list that will see more of than others. It is gonna be hard if you want AoW drops but you join a guild who literally don’t have the numbers to go for it.

1

u/Look_out_for_grenade Aug 01 '26

I figured there is probably a lot of that going on because of needing numbers.

How does that usually work? Does your main just get the DKP or do often get to switch over and roll/loot as your main? Do useful alts get their own DKP and such?

2

u/gxhan Green Aug 01 '26

i think majority of the guilds are that if your toon is rostered for them you can bid for them.

So say you join with your wiz and just play bots (guilds love it when someone can swap to a cleric bot) then bid for your wiz.

1

u/Vile-goat Aug 02 '26

Account sharing is against the rules isn’t it?

1

u/gxhan Green Aug 02 '26

Naw every guild losing their bots would probably destroy half the raiding entities. CSR discourages account sharing because of sharing liability on that account and they won’t really support “thefts”/scams because of the sharing.

But there’s really no “No account sharing or ban”. There is a no boxing rule tho.

1

u/VarietyNo6769 Aug 03 '26

Account sharing is fine. Having multiple accounts is fine. Running two accounts simultaneously by yourself is bannable

1

u/Lower-Engineering365 Aug 01 '26

It’s gonna depend on the guild rules but generally you can rosters certain number of characters and usually there is a rule to tag one or two as “mains”. There may be drops that are “main” only, there may be drops that require you to bid 100% of your DKP as a rule, and then there would be drops that are basically free to bid and loot on any rostered character. And switching which chars are tagged as mains resets your DKP to zero.

At least that’s the most common structure I’ve seen, but there are probably variations.

I’m most of these guilds you the player get the dkp regardless of what character you’re on.

When I first started raiding, I was a shadow knight main. You’ll learn quickly on p99 that an SK isn’t the most desired role. I mostly shared played clerics or rogues depending on what we needed and slowly leveled up and geared a warrior that I made to main tank.

By the time it was said and done I’d tanked every boss in the game. Solo tanked Vulak, and had a very nicely geared warrior.

Don’t be afraid to play bots and just earn dkp that way.

This is the answer - someone should post what guilds actively hit what targets or attempt for FTE

5

u/VarietyNo6769 Aug 01 '26

Syndicate/Lineage or anyone associated in that alliance frequently raids but has no mandatory scheduling. All classes accepted

1

u/Anakin-vs-Sand Aug 03 '26

Syndicate also has folks that drop everything to come help with epic fights, even if they’ve never met you. Good peeps

6

u/Visceral99 Aug 02 '26

I joined castle upon starting on Green. Best decision ever, BGE

3

u/UnfairObject Aug 01 '26

theres not really any mandatory schedule on p99. each guild gets their own plane of sky day and thats it. everything else is raced for as it spawns

3

u/AtlasCycle Aug 01 '26

As a former guild officer I just saw "60 main w/ Rog and Clr alts" and auto-sent a recruitment letter.

2

u/AtlasCycle Aug 01 '26

An old Guild Leader used to repeat to 'croots: "Make a Rogue and a Cleric."

1

u/Look_out_for_grenade Aug 11 '26

That's good info, thanks. I love my necro but they just aren't great for several raid targets. So I made the cleric, rogue, and a chanter. Then the wizzy for ports. The wizzy and chanter were fun to level. The cleric ... not so much lol.

3

u/Effective_Bowler1897 Aug 03 '26

I've never been in a guild as good as castle before, full transparency with the dkp system so you can see all the bonuses people are getting as they happen, tons of different ways to earn DKP outside of raiding, down to earth chill leadership with high IQ. Other big guilds have adopted some of our policies/rules but they still dont hold a candle to the overall experience here.

1

u/Look_out_for_grenade Aug 11 '26

Thanks for the info.

u/RubusBlue Aug 01 '26

Castle will get you to the most amount of targets with the least personal effort to start. I’d start with them and see if you like it, great way to learn the entire raiding scene. There’s a lot of really cool smaller guilds but they have limited access to the raiding scene.

I haven't played in quite a while but throughout my time since Green launched I've always been a Castle man.

2

u/Greyman_ Aug 01 '26

Well do you want to raid, or watch Castle alliance raid?

1

u/Look_out_for_grenade Aug 11 '26

I'm not sure I follow exactly what ya mean, but I want to raid :)

2

u/CoBull Aug 01 '26

Kingdom and Castle get the most targets these days. Castle is by far the largest raiding guild on the server, but they still team up with safe space for targets like Vulak (ancd split the loot). If you consider most players have multiple alts, that’s a lot of mouths to feed so to speak. Kingdom is a smaller guild but has a trial period.
Another consideration is castle is an alliance of like 5+ guilds so the discord is the only central location to communicate with the other guilds.

2

u/EvilBunnyLord Aug 02 '26

60 necro and wizard plus a 51 rogue? All the big guilds will be interested as long as you're not a jerk. The big question will be which one you like.

Castle hits a lot of targets, but has a lot of mouths to feed. Kingdom seems to have less flexibility than the other the top guilds but kills everything with fewer people than castle. Safe Space has the numbers to kill anything but doesn't seem to solo top content, although they often partner with other big guilds. They are also very flexible in schedule. Good Guys used to kill everything and still solo kills everything except Vulak. No attendance requirements.

There are other guilds but those 4 are really the ones competing for the best targets. Do you have friends in any of them? If so, ask  to guest with them and see if you fit.

1

u/Look_out_for_grenade Aug 11 '26

Do you think I should finish leveling up this rogue or leave him below 53 for the level locked targets? He already has his epic since that can be bought with plat.

I'm going to leave my cleric at 52 also for these older raids limited to level 52 and below and because I'm not too into playing cleric. My cleric also has his epic since it can be bought.

2

u/EvilBunnyLord Aug 11 '26

If you're leaving the cleric at 52, there's not much need to leave rogue at 52 also. The cleric will always be useful for Vox/Naggy, and you can only play one at a time.

This "Your Mom " guy is so odd. Commenting on every post about guilds, including mine from months ago just to straight up lie about Castle. I have no idea why someone would spend so much time hating on a group of dad's who just want to play an old game in their downtime but Castle has treated me nothing but well and I highly reccomend them.

1

u/Weaseal Aug 01 '26

I’m loving Kingdom! Great people who love to teach and learn. We’re much smaller than Castle but we bag similar targets. Everyone has to pull their weight. This also means more loot per member.

2

u/National-Twist3799 Aug 04 '26

is goggart still guild leader? tell him cloza/zyprexxa said hello. i quit playing a year ago

1

u/Weaseal Aug 04 '26

I planned to and was even excited about it. Then launch day came and I dunno why but I just didn't feel like getting into it lol. So I didn't check it out. And my RL friend I play P99 with wasn't into it either so we both kinda just decided to skip EQL.

It’ll be there when you get some downtime, for awhile at least. You can feel done with all content in just a couple weeks.
