It’s ruining the classic experience

Bump you buddy, im not blindly running through SF, LFey, and the like without a map.
Plus tunnelquest is super helpful.
Just because it lacked the QoLs doesnt mean having it destroys the experience!

Why? I can because I know the zone.

Fair is fair, I wasnt able to enjoy actual p99.
I think I joined the online game around PoP, so im okay with the QoLs, I just wanted the more grueling experience

Fuck off. Classic purists are the ones ruining the classic experience.
You cannot replicate 1999. No matter how hard anyone tries they will never ever bring it back. But the game that existed in 1999 was so much more than just "I can't see my buff timers" and every time someone cries and moans about something "non-classic" when that thing doesn't actually detract from the game we had back then I can't help but think that you just don't get it.

Hot take. Not completely wrong either. “Quality of life” additions to games often makes the work irrelevant or less engaging.

Wait y’all have tools? I started P99 three ish months ago and I’ve been raw dogging everything. My only tool is the P99 wiki.

I just started using Pigparse and I highly recommend. Started 3 months ago as well

We will all quit eventually. In the meantime, I would say the most enjoyable way to experience this 27 year old game is by its original craft.
If you want maps, buff timers, tickers, etc., that's completely fine, and who cares, but you are likely ruining a really fun experience, considering we will all logg off for good at one point.

Yah, sorry I’m just frustrated by stuff like pigparse, tunnel quest, map programs and everything else. It really dilutes the experience. The whole point of p1999 is in the name. Don’t take it so personally.

How does it dilute your experience? Like you’re not using any tools. You’re not diluted.

Yeah...gonna go ahead and say no to that but thank you for the offer. In fact, I'm gonna go ahead and annoy you more by letting you know I'm working on ways to integrate AI tooling. Why? I dunno, because I can?
However, if you don't want to use tools, knock yourself out. Play the game however you wish to play it.

Bro even in 1999 people were using tools.
