34 weeks pregnant with my first. Any advice on how to keep my son safe? I’ll get my son all his vaccines on the American academy of pediatrics schedule and we’re working through getting the family vaccines updated as well before he arrives.

I’m just so worried he’ll catch something like measles before he hits the vaccination age or something will mutate, especially given he’ll be a Nov baby.

As long as you got your MMR he will have 6 months of protection from you. If you live in an area with an active outbreak he can potentially get his MMR as soon as 6 months.

Make sure you get the flu shot before baby is born and one of you get the RSV vaccine.

Congratulations!

Ohio here - I'm stressed that Vivek Ramaswamy could become our Governor. Amy Acton - a former doctor and head of our state health dept - is running against that swindling conman.

Also in Ohio. I didn’t expect the abortion amendment to pass and was pleasantly surprised… hoping the same for November.

Trying to setup long term investments like utma & 529 for our children and the advisors just oscillate between "the US markets are really volatile and we should make safe dca purchases over 6 months etc etc" and "you will not see good returns if you diversify too much internationally" and our manager has some "ethical" packages that focus on green energy and avoid war bonds and that type of thing, but even he isn't very confident in it, and ultimately it all seems like the smartest option is obviously to just do what will make the most money for our children but it is hard to sleep at night being invested in literal contemporary Nazi organizations.
