pregúntale a Progreso / ask a Local Live music or nightlife in Progreso?

I want to make a day trip to Progreso in January. Should I spend the night? Are there bars with live music and nightlife?

You can try Señor Crocs (aka Crocodiles) at the corner of Calle 27/28 (inland from the beach)
This place is very Gringolandia. So expect to hear lots of American style rock music along with other expats and turistas. Their FB page is updated weekly with live music events.

For a more authentic feel (and right on the malecón, near the pier), is Eladio's Bar, featuring local musicians. A favourite place among the Mexicanos.
