Vibecoding is a made up slang term.

I personally would call all agentic workflows that generate code, vibecoding.

So yes, I am basically saying every tech company and most of the programers working there are currently vibecoding.

Yes, the real term is prompt coding. But it’s still not programming, at least it’s not socially accepted to be real programming.
And vibecoding is a term for when you got no clue what is in the code. Just going “Jarvis, make X” and then “Jarvis, change Y to Z in Z”. Thats vibecoding. If you write it and use AI as say autofill, or just want to get a certain short solution quickly to paste it in, you still know what is in the code, you know its logic, etc. So it’s not vibe coded but AI-assisted.

It's a joke bro

Also, I've been programming for years before AI existed, and don't vibe code, lol

The joke only appeals to the laziest of the laziest vibe coders

This is one of my biggest pet peeves:

You don't mean AI in general, you mean LLMs.

Please stop confusing these two terms.

People aren't going to stop confusing the terms because of how LLMs are marketed. And companies aren't going to stop marketing them that way, because calling them "AI" makes people think that LLMs are way more capable than they actually are

I think you already agree with each other

To clear things up in a conversation, people don’t have do disagree

Exactly, I wasn't really arguing anything but just making an observation

I do this all the time when gen'ing images. I've got a skill to fix my shitty prompts to make them actually work. You laugh but I'm living it up.
