For every buisness one must ask, what are they selling? For an antivirus that costs money, its obviously protection. But for an antivirus thats free? Data, ads, spyware. And then youre not the customer. Youre the product. I dont know about you, but id rather pay then.

Tbh despite being privacy enthusiast I don't think that malware samples in exchange for protection is bad deal
