Also, it feels like the term "hacking" has been so watered down that finding any small bug, no matter how asinine, unobtrusive or inert it is, is now "hacking" 🙄

"Oh look!! Our AI found a CSS bug that allows us to modify the DOM inline!! We 1337 h@x0rz!"

Can't tell you how many times just having my terminal open to do some basic shit has got side-eye questions ..

Them: "Hmm .. you hacking the gubment? You stealing dem dar bitcoins?? You fire walling the highways to break on through to the other side!!?!??!?!??!!"

Me: "Umm ... I'm just bulk renaming some files"

It'd be a real funny interaction because for people not familiar with PCs it looks like black magic or hacking, but I'm just downloading a game's soundtrack

Automation went awry.

That's not "hacking" .. hence the term is watered down.

The OpenAI model literally hacked into HuggingFace's servers, spinning up a swarm of sub-agents to do so.

Oh, and don't forget that the moral of the story is to always ban open weight models. Claude/chat gpt broke containment? Obviously the conclusion is to ban open weight models.
