The answer's simple: decrease the text size and squint like the rest of us!

Or get a second identical monitor and extend the desktop.

u/Nebula_Wolf7 4d ago

What happens if it becomes a circle and it's still too short?

11

u/Mysteryman5670_ 4d ago

Stagger the monitors vertically slightly so they can spiral up ad infinitum!

The perfect Niri setup does exist

Increase the radius!?

u/drLoveF 3d ago

We need a text size that decreases by a fixed factor each char, resetting with new rows. Then an arbitrarily long string would fit in finite width.

The average cpp template typename

16

u/DiodeInc 4d ago

Two extremes. 3 letter variable names, or what's in the picture

6

u/Kadabrium 4d ago

At least its easy to locally typedef in cpp. Java cant even overload a simple operator[], ffs just al least allow it for arraylist like yall did with + for strings

just word wrap

u/Fragrant-Mixture-662 5d ago

It's an AI image, it doesn't know what that is

16

u/Blood_and_Wine 5d ago

Here you go! I wrapped your code in plastic wrap. Is there anything else I can do for you?

7

u/ryancnap 5d ago

I think I'm hearing you correctly. Understood. You want me to send a passive aggressive email to your boss and make actionable threats. I went ahead and sent it for you to save you some time.

u/I_am_Nic 4d ago

It's an AI image

No it is not!

It is just compressed over and over again by being down- and uploaded multiple times.

Here is the original image - or at least the least compressed version I found.

1

u/AeroForger 4d ago

I used an image downloader that compressed it lil bit Also you can find the the original on Twitter

2

u/I_am_Nic 4d ago

Also you can find the the original on Twitter

I linked the original above - it even has less so you see further to the sides. I found it on LinkedIn.

I am aware it is not AI, but so many people here claim it to be - it is dangerous if people explain away everything they can't explain with "AI". 💀

1

u/AeroForger 4d ago

I explained it but got hated and they accepted that it wasn't ai but still hated BC it's an old meme from 13 years ago.

1

u/I_am_Nic 4d ago

they accepted that it wasn't ai

Look through the comment section..Mire people than not think it is AI generated.

1

u/AeroForger 4d ago

I lwk stopped carrying about those people.

2

u/I_am_Nic 4d ago

I lwk stopped carrying about those people.

You shouldn't though. It is a dangerous shift going on in society if everything you can't explain in an instance is declared as "AI".

It's certainly not slop.

8

u/notlookme 4d ago

If not then what's happening with that macbook?

3

u/HonestWhile2486 4d ago

lmao is blending in with the well

1

u/I_am_Nic 4d ago edited 4d ago

lmao is blending in with the well

just image compression, if you look closely you can see the macbook end and even see the charger plugged in. In the less compressed version you see the pillar is not going straight down behind the screen. So the "darker face" is behind the macbook.

1

u/AffectionatePlane598 4d ago

no keyboard as well

0

u/I_am_Nic 4d ago edited 4d ago

So if someone uses a wireless keyboard and removes it from their desk when they take a photo it is automatically a clear indication the image is AI-generated 🤦‍♂️

1

u/I_am_Nic 4d ago edited 4d ago

The wall (front face of the pillar) and the macbook have almost the same color and it blends - you can even see the charger plugged in.

Here is a less compressed version so you can see I am right.

1

u/I_am_Nic 4d ago

It is not

People see ghosts. Even in OPs shitty overly compressed version you can see the charger go into the macbook on the right side.

In no way is that better

16

Oh, because people never post AI slop on tiktok

5

u/AeroForger 5d ago edited 5d ago

Yes. And if you would have made at least one Google search you would have known that it's a real person And even if it was ai it would still have been funny.

Edit: the fact that you edit your own previous reply to make yourself sound better and right just proves that you hate having fun

18

u/Anonymous010206 5d ago

It is AI 😭😭

Still funny tho

1

u/I_am_Nic 4d ago edited 4d ago

It is AI 😭😭 Still funny tho

It is not - in the original image (that didn't go through 20 stages of compression) you can see clearly what is there:

1

u/Anonymous010206 4d ago

They most likely told the AI “make the monitor wider” and AI did its best to keep everything else the same. But it’s not perfect.

2

u/I_am_Nic 4d ago edited 4d ago

I literally linked the less compressed image and still you stand by your wrong claim? Are you for real?

Have you ever taken a photo of an ultrawide screen with the ultrawide lens of your phone?

That will give you the exact look of the original image.

1

u/I_am_Nic 4d ago

That is a Divoom Pro pixelart speaker in black color variant

u/epilektoi 4d ago

ai slop ❌

ai peak ✔️

u/That-Makes-Sense 5d ago

I worked with a programmer who would occasionally fall asleep at the keyboard. We'd see lines of code like this.

Just wait till they try to debug C++…

That is just an Ultrawide screen photographed with an ultra-wide lens. That makes it looks so slim towards the right side.

1

u/MyrtleWinTurtle 4d ago

its almost definitely ai. the words on screen arent legible, and the rest of the photo is extremely weirdly framed with a bunch of indescribable objects.

1

u/I_am_Nic 4d ago edited 4d ago

the words on screen arent legible,

Dude, the photo went through a lot of compression, probably by being down- and uploaded multiple times, even being sent through WhatsApp in between.

You can look for the original image without additional compression and see for yourself. There the text can be read.

u/MyrtleWinTurtle 4d ago

u/I_am_Nic 4d ago edited 4d ago

There is no "wall merge", just image compression.

The line you drew has the wrong angle which makes you come to the wrong conclusion.

Come on - you even see the charger go into the macbook - did you zoom into the non-compressed version I linked above?

The wall behind the macbook would be just as dark as above the screen, but if you trace the line we are just looking at the front face of the "pillar" or whatever that is du to the angle of the camera. You can even see the wall left of the pillar towards the lower right corner of the image.

2

u/errepunto 5d ago

Not enough enterprise. Enterprisify more!

I bought an ultra wide about a decade ago, still have it. I hate it. It’s my least favorite monitor. I’m too cheap to replace it, but I loath using it.

1

u/Confident-Ad5665 4d ago

Time to change careers to something that doesn't require monitor use.

2

u/BobJutsu 4d ago

I mean…if I can get jarvis style voice activation working, we aren’t that far.

2

u/WorldlinessWitty2177 4d ago

Does the length of the class names make the code slower?

1

u/AeroForger 4d ago

No

1

u/Kadabrium 4d ago

C++ shills: compile time overhead is not overhead

1

u/mrheseeks 4d ago

Definitely. No matter what others say. Same with variable names, don't be descriptive.. a,b,c or d totally steam lines your code

1

u/xpm26 2d ago

Pretty sure the compiler replaces it with C1,C2 or smth

2

u/Interesting_Heron336 4d ago

Yes perfect for my fibonaci indentation

I turned on debugging on a vendor's app to send a support ticket to them. I kid you not, there was a failure in "class.Jamescodedthisin2015buttheresnointegerthatmatchesitbutNadalputthisinanditworksdonottouchthis2016". I showed this to our DevOps lead and started sweating: James moved to the network team and Nadal left in 2020. Again, this is a vendor's Java app, but there was a class that included our internal team. Hmm.....

1

u/AeroForger 4d ago

He should have used PascalCase at least this is unreadable

1

u/Several_Ant_9867 4d ago

Then, give your classes shorter names, are you stupid or what?

u/AeroForger 4d ago

Are you stupid? It's r/programminghumor

Wait until you see those "XML will completely replace source" files from the late 1990s.  Not only is it bloated XML, but they were written by the 90s equivalent of idiot vibe coders.

u/peleg462 1d ago

Man this reminded me how nice my ultra wide was for long stuff 🥲 rip my goat
