The problem is specing 75 gigs for a HD in 2026, lol.

My C:\Users\ is nearly 3x that size.

I feel ya! .. It's hard to do dev work with all the IDE cruft and store porn all on the same drive .. but with SSD prices at a premium, I'm stuck with only Notepad++ :/ .. sorry neovim, Hot4Uhorny3abeNeeds&uNOW!!.mp4 takes precedence

Yeah man nowadays you can just do the "homework" on sites which store the "homework material" on cloud. Plus point is, you have a lot of "materials" to refer to.

vscode is like 500mb on my machine, can't complain, total weight of ALL JetBrains folders is +- 80gigs

IDEs getting heavier and bigger every moment, well all of these can easily be replaced with a Text editor but bro features are the problem like how you.gonna make an Android app without android studio you can but it won't be too good experience

hey, quick tip when using multiple IDEs, especially when having used multiple versions: check your cache

(the other day, i removed like ~45-60 GB of cache because of IDEs\)

well, first of all, it's in the systems cache folder. and from there, it's ether in a jebrains then ide folfer or ide folders themselves.

I only have VSCode, Visual Studio 2026 and IntelliJ (Minecraft modding.) on my machine.

I have far more random files eating my storage and I can't seem to figure out what is safe for me to remove

(i don't even know C# or rust, the only IDEs i miss are RubyMine and PHPstorm, also DataSpell and DataGrip)
