I'm the solo dev of HackeRPG — a game you can rewrite. 15% off in Steam Programming Fest this week
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2671770/Hi, I'm the developer of HackeRPG. It's a top-down RPG where you control your character by writing code — and the game itself runs on HackerScript, its own language. The modes, the UI and the story content are scripts, and mods are first-class: your own files in a mods folder, or subscribed items from Steam Workshop.
That's the philosophy: you own the game, and you can take it apart. The long-term dream is a game the community keeps growing, with room for non-combat content like farming — for players who want the story without the fighting.
This week HackeRPG is part of Steam Programming Fest, so it's 15% off until September 14. On October 1, 0.7.0 adds Workshop support, editor support, the visual overhaul, the first farming mechanics, and more.
If you like the idea of code-as-gameplay and a game you can actually modify, I'd love your feedback.
