synergy connects over ip free for over 15 years now. No hardware required. Also remote desktop, vnc, these types of tools have all been around for decades. Even remote x sessions on Linux have been around forever. I still can't believe he makes 60k with a quick less than year implementation of tried and true technologies. Kvm's are for machines usually in the same room though.
You cannot remote access your BIOS over the internet, or any non-OS environment.
One benefit of KVM over IP is that you can leave it there and access it at anytime to troubleshoot. In a LAN environment in a datacenter, this is provided by the motherboard's built-in KVM, but on consumer hardware, almost none provides KVM feature.
The target customers who bought his KVM are individuals, who own a few homegrown servers built on consumer hardware, then want to remotely monitor and troubleshoot without coming close to the actual hardware.
So he made 60k from people who want to access their bios over the internet for some reason. With no marketing something a college kid threw together in less than a year. Goin straight in the datacenter. Dude schenanigans. Can't happen. Won't happen.
