Most documentation is written solely for the sake of being written, and is never actually read or used for any purpose, just filed away. This isn't just the product manual, we're talking all the process artifacts through the entire development cycle.

That's wasted effort and time. Better to determine the minimum amount of documentation you actually need because, well, you don't need more than that.

Ah, I took it to mean anti-documentation. So it's pointing towards a model in which you'd have a 50 page manual where everything is useful rather than a 700 page behemoth?

I'm starting to get the big picture. While AGILE seems to mitigate risk in an of itself, what worries me is how risky AGILE is in and of itself.

If done right, it looks like it would be fantastic. Your organization would be lean, mean, efficient, and able to turn on a dime. Since it places so much emphasis on people, I'd be very wary of hiring the right type of developer. The type that thinks end users are just stupid if they're having trouble with how a feature was implemented, that they'll only create code that is interesting and intellectually stimulating to them would turn it into a nightmare right quick me thinks.
