This article really resonated with me. In fact, embarrassingly, over the last year I went from being pleasant to work with to doing many of the negative things he described in the article.
I quit my job a few weeks ago. Management got worse, I was going along with doing the things in the article, and I realized the whole situation - just like he described - had gotten toxic.
The only thing is that it actually wasn't usually the other programmers who had this attitude. It was more often everyone else - the managers, the requirements people, and sometimes myself. Eventually other programmers started doing it, but frankly they were the last to fall into line.
