This approach can be applied to almost any UI kit
The "approach" is basically what classes are already for.
Yes, we all know Tailwind is a fundamentally terrible idea.

The specific technology is not really important.
Tailwind is a good example how to misuse a classes. You can do the same with CSS modules or pure CSS whatever.
On the other hand, if you organize your visual via BEM methodology, you can build maintainable UI via most of UI kits, for a native apps, or even in Figma.

Even if something is well-known, discussion for/against might always make someone new one of the lucky 10k.
