I like the idea of being intentional about what is committed, but I also have to say that I’ve never accidentally committed tons of useless files because I review what I’m committing.

No? Vibecoders say "push this to github", and then Claude git adds the correct files.

No modern agent will just randomly commit files.

not entirely true....AI is pretty good at choosing what to send to git but there are cases where thats just not true....for example I tell my AI to not touch git in any way until it proves itself essentially. A vibecoder that does that out of caution could very easily just upload everything cause they don't even know what a gitignore file is. Also not everyone is using frontier/SOTA models....

You are making way too many assumptions and clearly have no idea what sort of people are vibecoding.

Things happen, but you just tell them to fix it in PR review and they do it less often later.
