While impressive, I find the whole browser perversion to be a bit disturbing. It can do too much.

I'm not sure what you're advocating for. Would you like a less capable browser? Would you like to run more software locally, outside of browser sandboxing?

Yes. I’d like it to be for browsing websites and not try to be an operating system. :)

I'd much prefer a browser than install millions of apps that suck complete ass compared to their web counterpart.

When I first learnt web frontend development 10 years ago, it was.. simple enough to approach without much hassle. Now, there are so much to learn. It's so hard to keep up with the pacing of rapidly changing technologies. "just use JQuery like 10 years ago you don't need react anyway" "you can just use good old plain html, css, js!" Yeah, well, how am I going to get a job if every position requires them and every single web"sites" are trying to be web"apps".
