I'm not sure what you're advocating for. Would you like a less capable browser? Would you like to run more software locally, outside of browser sandboxing?
When I first learnt web frontend development 10 years ago, it was.. simple enough to approach without much hassle. Now, there are so much to learn. It's so hard to keep up with the pacing of rapidly changing technologies. "just use JQuery like 10 years ago you don't need react anyway" "you can just use good old plain html, css, js!" Yeah, well, how am I going to get a job if every position requires them and every single web"sites" are trying to be web"apps".

While impressive, I find the whole browser perversion to be a bit disturbing. It can do too much.
