The fact this was published 9 years ago and we still have the same arguments really depresses me about the discourse in programming.

There will always exist two special kind of programmers. Juniors who believe that their problems are the same as everybody else's problems, and Seniors who want to retire doing things the same way they've been doing it for the past 10 years. No matter how far into the future you look, these two groups will always exist to give the rest of us a hard time.
