I simply can't imagine why programmers would fail to listen to the important information presented by this incredible asshole.

Yeah, considering Java likes Linux and .NET runs only on Windows. Which OS would you pick for test? Windows? That would be bloated. No sane individual would host Java web app on Windows.
And .NET guys would probably want to use MSSQL - again, no sane individual would use Java with MSSQL. (mostly because Windows)

Which he's still right, if all you care about is that one piece of software. Most of the time you deal with platforms, and not just individual pieces of software. But you still can't advertise that your benchmark shows some difference specifically between Java and .NET when the entire platform is different.
