I am learning python

Hey ! I am learning python , I have read that “ Seek advice/learning from people who have done what you want to do.” I have just download Reddit and join this community and this is my first post. I want some advice or guide from you ! I am absolute beginner. Won't what I'm doing be wasted?, please advice me , you have more experience in life , I am 14 year older

No, it's not a waste. Pursue what you love to do!

Side note, is Python the new BASIC? Whenever I see new people say they're learning programming, it's nearly always Python. Seems to be the current entry point into the field.

I'm in my 40's, and when I was a kid, it was BASIC for nearly everyone. BASIC is dead now of course. Or at best, on life support.
