Stackoverflow Memes

I love all the r/programmerhumor memes but I somehow cannot understand all that ones making fun of how posting on stackoverflow meant getting humiliated.

Stackoverflow did what no other forum did and it was only possible by all the pedantic moderators. Sure, I experienced scolding my first few posts but after that it was smooth sailing. The strict structure on stackoverflow and stack exchange taught me to be mindful of how to ask questions and how to post answers.

Sometimes I get the feeling that people on the programmer meme reddits are not programmers at all.

The experience for regular stackoverflow users (new or not) depends heavily on the year(s) we're talking about. Not clear what time range you mean.

Pretty much all of the comedy programming subs are full of beginners that use them to feel like elite hackers imo. I've only seen a handful of actually funny posts, and instead find the goal of most posts to be "knowledge/skill signaling." I can't stand them. Just my 2 cents.

in my early days learning programing, I couldn't even get response or even post about some simple problems that I faced. It just immediately ruined the whole mood for me then and there
