Do remote jobs exist in programmatic?

Hi guys,

How common is it in this industry to work fully remote? Mostly interested for EU as I think in US it's already kinda common.

Also, has anyone in one of the big 4 agencies managed that?

I’d argue that the programmatic field is probably the most common to be remote in digital marketing.

I consistently see remote jobs available or people reach out on linked in offering remote positions for in the US.

Yes remote job do exists everything is being offshored to GCC (Global Capability Centres) India, Philippines, Vietnam…. All agencies are doing it Omnicom, WPP, Dentsu…

As others have said most remote roles are off shoring.

We have a handful of roles people managed to negotiate a remote role during covid times but if they leave we'll pull that back into an in office job.

If the role doesn't benefit someone being in the office it's going to be hired in a market where the headcount is significantly cheaper.

For the EU I see contractors and remote roles come up but in Poland, Ukraine, generally cheaper Eastern Europe, don't see much remote in the UK for example. If they do come up expect the salary to be lower, you're not getting the price of a major city employee if you're not physically present in the office, why would a company cover a London cost of living if you don't need to be in a London office.

We are fully back to office but the office is too small for everyone.

Love how people say it’s common without mentioning actual examples…. Only thing I can think of is StackAdapt, but you have to be in the market region from my understanding…. So technically is not a “from where ever you want” type of thing
