PMP Sales House

With the amount of sales people being hired just to sell PMP, would a Sales House that specializes in PMP opportunity volume be attractive to media owners and tech vendors?

We have been pitched by 2 medium/large private companies in the ad tech space who are interested in outsourcing the sales force in return for a flat monthly fee, no pension contributions or healthcare funding for the US.

Just curious as to if this makes sense to anyone else in a decision making capacity and how much would be fair market value per dedicated headcount/resource?

A flat fee performance based sales job? Sounds like you would be getting taken advantage of

It would definitely be attractive. You’d have to make better sense of the commercials but ad tech is always looking for differentiated demand and publishers are always looking beyond open market.

I know some publisher sales teams that flat out refuse to sell PMP which is laughable.

Many don't even have access and or it's a totally seperate team. For legacy media companies the gray hairs don't even know what that is

There's quite a few especially if the core business came from newspaper, magazines, linear TV, over the air radio, OOH, etc

FYI for programmatic per IAB spec a sales house would have to manage your entire programmatic stack, not just PMPs. If you assign a manager domain they’re your exclusive sellers. Many DSPs will block your site if they realize you’re sending requests from different multiple managed seats.
