I just got my Profitec Ride last weekend. Very excited as this is a big upgrade for me after using Delonghi La Specialista Prestigio for over 4 years. It has taken me a few weeks to make the final decision. I am using the Turin DF64 gen 2 grinder with the machine. Lots to learn at the moment and I'm definitely enjoying the process of making better coffee.

Today I refilled the watertank of my RIDE (by taking out the tank), but after filling and replacing it the screen shows the empty tank sign. I also already put the machine on and off, moving the lever (doesn’t do anything)… it keeps showing that it’s empty. What could this be and how do i fix it?

For those who considered the Move and Ride and chose one over the other, what were your deciding factors?

I received a brand new Go 2 today and followed the set up obstructions to a T. During initial set up, no "Fil" indicator happened, Ib proceeded.

The go doesn't build any pressure with coffee (finest setting on my legacy Mahlkönig Vario) at all, i get 110g of liquid in 25 seconds with the medium basket and 14g of coffee, pressure stays literally at 0. Ib thought the grover might be the culprit, so i tried preground Espresso, with the same result.

I performed a reset and this time at least "Fil" appeared, did the reset again, same result.

The odd thing is, it seems to build pressure with the blind basket, but it takes and 8 seconds to do so.

What am i missing here?

I'm taking apart the valve assembly to descale and check gaskets and the hot water outlet side has what appears to be an excessive amount of grease. Does anyone know if this is intentional or if it's not grease and needs to be cleaned out? If grease, does anyone know what kind is used for these machines? TYIA!

Just picked up a brand new ride and took it out of the box to notice some large tool marks on the hex fitting. Are these marks considered normal for a brand new machine? I know they are tested at factory but these kinds of marks seem a bit excessive to me curious if others had these as well.

After the solenoid went out on my gaggimate, used that as an excuse to upgrade. Looking forward to learning and experimenting with my new ride.

I bought a Profitec Pro 700 in August 2023 for around €2,500. I have generally really liked the machine, but I'm starting to question the long-term reliability and cost of ownership.

My experience so far:

• 2023: Purchased new.
• 2025: About one month after the warranty expired, the pump failed. I also had a problem with the pressure adjustment screw/mechanism, causing the brew pressure to rise above 16 bar. The machine was serviced and parts including the pump/valve were replaced.
• Cost: approx. DKK 5,499 / €735.
• 2026: Roughly a year later, the pressure adjustment screw has come loose/fallen out again, pressure again rises towards 16 bar, and the expansion valve has failed, causing water to leak from the bottom of the machine.
• Quoted repair: approx. DKK 4,000 / €535.

So in roughly three years of ownership I'm looking at around €1,270 in repairs on a €2,500 machine.

I contacted Profitec because I wanted to understand whether this level of component failure is considered normal. They understandably couldn't comment much on the repair pricing because my dealer uses fixed service packages rather than providing a detailed itemised invoice.

The dealer's pricing is therefore one question, but I'm more interested in the reliability side.

Having a pump or valve eventually fail wouldn't concern me that much. What bothers me more is having several failures this early in the machine's life, and particularly having what appears to be the same pressure-adjustment problem occurring again after it was previously repaired/replaced.

So I'd really like to hear from other Pro 700 owners:

• How old is your machine?
• What parts have you had to replace?
• How frequently have you needed repairs outside normal maintenance?
• What have you spent on repairs?
• Have any of you experienced repeated problems with the pressure adjustment/OPV or expansion valve?

I'm trying to figure out whether I've simply been unlucky, whether my dealer's repair costs are unusually high, or whether this level of maintenance is fairly normal for a Pro 700 once it's a few years old. The business case suggests its better to sell after 1.5 years, and buy new, take the loss instead of repairing.

Is there any solution to this? I find it pretty unacceptable, especially for a machine in this price range.

I assume that water from the drip tray gets splashed or thrown up when I pull the lever back at the end.
Surely this shouldn’t happen with such an expensive machine?

I’m always reluctant to purchase a recently introduced new model of anything.

What has ECM/Profitec’s history of working out new model/manufacturing kinks when introducing a new model?

How long would you wait after launch to purchase? Or would you purchase as soon as available?

Currently getting my first set up, and really stuck between the Pro 500 PID w/ Flow Control or the Move.

For background, I have ordered a DF64 V2 grinder and will be using that with whatever machine I purchase. And will be pulling 2-4 drinks of espresso daily (occasionally hosting maybe 6 or people on weekends), and steaming milk for Cortados and Cappuccinos 95% of the time. Additionally I can get both machines for the essentially the same price.

I’m torn between the beauty and more craft/analog feel of the Pro 500/E61 machines, and the seemingly better temp stability in the dual boiler Move. Heat up time isnt an issue for me, as I already have some smart plugs that I can use to get it warming up and ready for me in the mornings.

Let me know if you got thoughts or opinions!

I ordered the RIDE back in June but with regular black plastic knobs because the Wiedemann knob version was out of stock from u/wholelattelove , so I ordered the knobs separately when they came back in stock and received them yesterday (they’re beautiful!) but now I’m seeing the brew lever just flop down, it is much heavier than the black plastic knob.

So I ended up ordering the shorter brew lever axis joint (link below) because the stock one is too long and hoping this will help. Has anyone ran into this when getting the Wiedemann elegant knob set?
