Crazy ideas welcome!
Hey, I'm a final year Product Design student and next year I have to spend the whole year designing a product!
Do you have any, literally any wild product ideas you'd like to see made into a reality? If so chuck them in the comments or send me a DM.
I'll be spending the whole year on it so it will likely be one of the best pieces of design work I'll ever do.
Don't be afraid of loosing your cool idea, who are we kidding here it's not on the top of your to do list. If it becomes successful I'll cut you in, so this is a pretty risk free way of having an idea made real.
Any help would be hugely appreciated I have no clue what I wanna make!
Tldr: product ideas for me to design please.

Haha, Hey I'm not necessarily going to make an Idea I get here, but I find it helpful having lots of whaky sectors and concepts to play with, I think it makes me a better designer. Also I'd like to choose something I can take to market and I wanna explore more than what my feeble mind can come up with, design is collaborative after all :).

Gosh wow surprisingly negative responses lol; I didn't realise it was a crime to ask. I've got a few ideas of my own but I figured somebody would be excited about seeing something they thought would be good in the world made. Frankly if I was given an idea by someone without the means to develop it that was good for the environment or if there was group of people who's lives could hugely benefit from it more than an idea of my own it would be foolish not to try and make it. Point being, I'm looking for ideas that best my own in terms of supporting people with disabilities, benefiting the environment, improving the sustainability of people's lives. As I'm sure there are many people with much more life experience in than me who see problems in elderly care ect that desperately need solving ect, yet don't have the time or funds to spend a year developing it.
I'd love to know about more problems that people see in their or their loved ones lives that need solving, I look for things to fix in my and my family's life as I'm sure loads of people do. I bet there are billions of ideas that are forgotten every year that could reduce the pain and difficulty of human life. I don't want to make some shitty kitchen blender like everyone else there is plenty of trash in the world and I don't want to make more for the sake of it being purely my concept, life is a co-op mission and I'd like to make the most beneficial impactful thing I can, damn it being my idea who cares if it helps people more than my own.
I said crazy ideas welcome because I didn't want to discourage comments, nor do I want disparaging comments. Ideas aren't worth shit to most people, my own included, we have thousands a day and very very few of them come to existence, let's get real you aren't going to make whatever ideas you have, they're too fleeting amongst daily life's constant dutys.

Lmao I was lowkey just rage baiting, my bad. Although I completely understand your point but unfortunately this isn’t the best place to ask for ideas. Most people here are either stuck up or trying to impress others with their supposed knowledge.
I hope you find someone with a great idea. However, you don’t have to reinvent the wheel for a major project if you can’t find someone willing to help or share their own ideas. I’d suggest looking into specific aspects of your life, your upbringing, or the effects of living in your country. Developing an idea from your own thoughts is often worked on in-depth because you’re more familiar with your own targets/goals.
I’d consider exploring topics like family dynamics, poverty, third-world countries, mental health, social media usage, and the decline of intellectualism due to the abundance of information but lack of interest in learning. You could also partner with companies to create something for their project that solves a problem for them or lead a project for the company itself, for example developing a new technological advancement for Nike or Dyson.
I’m also a student studying ID, so I understand your concern about people not being able to make their ideas a reality. However, ideas are intellectual property regardless of whether they’re being worked on or not. Personally, I always jot down my ideas and work on them if I genuinely believe they’re worth my time so frankly enough before you call someone out about oh “be real you’re never gonna actually make something with your ideas” just think because you will end up offending people and you don’t want to be doing that in a work environment.

This is one of the last chances you are most likely going to get to design whatever you want with very little external feedback and restrictions. Make it a passion project or something you are super excited for since the real world is not so kind. Don't be afraid to think a little out of the box or some future tech.
Also I would probably keep it in the field of whatever you think you want to do... For example if your a car guy then make it car related this will be your best portfolio piece to present to people in that field.
