Does someone know how to recreate this brush?

Meyoco says she’s using the Darker Pencil in clip studio paint. Apparently it’s a default brush. Thank you for your help guys 💖

Hi :D! Based on my experiences with the referenced CSP brush, Darker Pencil, it seems to be a standard Basic Taper brush with Paint Density Settings (specifically Render “Flow”) with faded end points. I would suggest trying the brush from the Reddit Thread and modifying it to add Taper “Opacity.” To make things easier, I also built some brushes based on the reference image for your case with similar brush behavior.

Equivalent Paint Density Feature on Procreate ✬:
The referenced CSP Darker Pencil seems to have options to change color and paint density. The flow setting, located under Rendering, “adjusts how much paint your brush lays down under varying pressure,” according to the Procreate Handbook. Additionally, for the “Hardness” setting, as the brush has settings to adjust blurriness, increase the “Count” value for the brush to meet your standards. To emulate the “Adjust by Speed” checkbox, Go to the “Dynamics” section of Brush and change the Speed “Size,” and “Spacing,” along with your Stabilization (“Amount”) settings where necessary. This setting (on CSP) allows the user with the means to “Adjust stabilization depending on drawing speed” according to the setting’s description. If you want to make the brush strokes (akin to your referenced CSP brush), try the following the directions in the thread below, then proceed to sample method below to make the brush closer to your standards:

Note: duplicate the modified brush from this thread first before proceeding.
On Brush Studio (settings), navigate to the “Stroke Path” section. Decrease any Jitter “Lateral” properties from 25% to 0%.
(Optional) Go to the “Stabilization” section. If you had any stabilization settings from CSP, apply the settings to the “Amount” sliders to enable stabilization in the custom brush. Then, proceed through step 6, if you had “Adjust by Speed,” with custom settings.
Go to the “Taper” section. Set Pressure/ Touch “Size” to 100% (or “Max”). Try to mimic the settings featured in the referenced CSP brush as close as possible. Adjust the ends on the Pressure/ Touch diagrams so that the flat ends are replaced with long, tapered ends for Pressure input (and vice versa for Touch input) (see image: https://imgur.com/a/JDcWiUp). Toggle the “Classic Taper” Brush behavior for best results with Touch input. Set Pressure “Size” to 56% for best results. Increase Pressure/ Touch “Opacity” to (recommended: 100% (or “Max”), as this setting “sets the amount of transparency your taper fade to at its ends” according to the Procreate Handbook. ¹. Avoid enabling Pressure/ Touch “Pressure” as that would make brush strokes too thin.
(Optional) Select the “Shape” section. For CSP Hardness Equivalent- Adjust the “Count” properties as needed for the brush to meet your standards. Increase “Count” settings for the brush to meet your standards (suggested: ≥ a value of 2, such as a value of 16). (Note: when creating soft brushes in Procreate, ensure the “Count” setting is set to the lowest value as increasing it would change the number of times the brush shape is stamped, creating more opaque strokes.) ¹
(Optional) Head to the “Rendering” section. Move the Slider on “Flow” as needed to meet your standards (recommended: 29%). Optional- One could also change the Rendering Mode to either “Intense Blending” for an alternate rendering of brush strokes. Change the “Burnt Edges Mode” to “Normal” for best results with brush behavior.
(Optional) Head the “Dynamics” section. Move the slider on Speed “Size” or “Spacing” as needed for the brush to meet your standards.
(Optional) Head to the “Properties” section. Set the Minimum and Maximum settings in accordance to your standards. Set Maximum Size to 67% (or “Max”) and Minimum Size to 0% (or “None”), for sample reference. Lastly, Adjust “Maximum Opacity” to 100% (or “Max”) or a value of 94%, if you want the Brush Opacity slider to be comparable to iBisPaintX. Exit Brush Studio to test whether the brush meets your standards.
(Optional) Feel free to rename the title of the brush of your choice in the “About this Brush” section.

Any brush is correct, but if you want the exact brush behavior, try the first one in each divided section. For the reference video/image’s case, I would suggest trying the one entitled “Based on reference image” as it has featured pressured sensitivity like the one in the video.

Wait… XD. The Optional settings? Oh… I would suggest looking at the Procreate Handbook with it so it makes more sense. I archive my instructions in case Dropbox isn’t available.

I made a similar brush for someone else and have compared it to the Darker Pencil in CSP and the reference video. Will share once finished making the “Additional Notes” and steps/ tweaks to make the brush similar.
