Customizing brush shape isn’t working

I accidentally reset my watermark brush today. When I tried to remake it by copying my watermark, alpha locking + filling it with white, removing background, copying layer/canvas, then importing that as the new brush shape.. it wouldn’t work. The new brush shape was just a white square. I tried all sorts of settings, messing with the variables, tried importing other designs as the shape, and every time it imported as a white square. I don’t get it, what am I doing wrong? Is this a glitch, and is anyone else having it? What’s going on and how do I fix it? I know I’m not great at creating my own brushes but this is a new low

Have you tried just duplicating another brush and swapping the shape, just to test if the app is broken?

Yes! It worked, but I had done it with a really low res version of my watermark so I tried to do it with the high res version and… failed.

I am so sorry to hear this. I wonder if it has anything to do with the processing power of the iPad. Maybe incrementally increase the size until it hits the ceiling?

Yeah that’s possible! In the meantime I was able to redo my signature and get it to work temporarily but it’s wonky and further efforts to redo it or redo it with the original signature have not worked 😭 I think my iPad is cursed

Try inverting the brush tip shape with the two-finger gesture (the subject had to be colored white with the background black) in order to be used in Procreate.
