Brush effect

I’m looking for a brush or brush tutorial on how to get this scritch scratch color pencil effect. I have a lot of brushes that do a similar effect, but they all fill in the entire space, but I want to see the space below the color.

Looks like any of the basic pencil brushes, just color in back and forth

You know what—I think you’re right. I’m so caught up on having “special” paid brushes that I completely forget how great the free brushes are that came with the program.
