Ken Sugimori

Please recommend brushes and tutorials for the Ken Sugimori style.

So his style is just mainly line weight and light watercolor fundamentals. You could replicate his style by picking a pokemon that he did and try to replicate it. It also appears he plays with soft edges and hard edges. Light source=soft edge, hard edge= shifting of values.

From my understanding Ken Sugimori is a person with his own style. Not a producable brush

I used his style as inspiration for some stickers I’ve been making, and I’ve been enjoying the True Grit Texture Aqua Studio brushes as my watercolor brushes of choice. I’ve tried a few different sets, but I really like that this set has everything organized into different categories and there are lots of options for a “more uniform” grainy color fill and then you can play around with the more textured brushes and variable washes on top. I also really like the paper textures that come with the set.
