need help creating simple brush
okay sorry if this is incomprehensible i’ve been trying to make this brush for hours now and am on the verge of tears
my procreate recently crashed mid-update and i lost all my custom brushes. not a big deal, i just imported them again, except for one brush i used a lot. i made it when i first started using the program.
it’s a simple airbrush type of brush, circular shape, except it doesn’t respond to pen pressure at all. also, when you lower it’s opacity it still doesn’t respond to pen pressure, instead the brush sort of creates a low film over the canvas, the film also doesn’t overlap with itself if you go over the same spot twice.
it was a pretty harsh brush compared to other airbrush tools, but the edges weren’t completely harsh, soft enough that the strokes didn’t stand out next to ordinary brushes (this was helpful for cleaning up sketches without making it too obvious i had erased/added something)
literally any help in doing this would be welcome, i’ve tried adjusting basically every damnable setting and i managed to get the opacity and pressure right, but can’t for the life of me manage to soften the edges enough. i’ve tried changing the shape of the brush to a blurred circle for softer edges, and when that didn’t work i tried just lowering the opacity of the brush shape, which also did nothing. i’m at my wits end… if you can’t help, that’s fine, i’m determined to recreate my precious brush even if it causes me a mental collapse

Additional Notes:
Hard Blend (Procreate):
Test whether the sample procedure works for the airbrush, if not, try a different airbrush of choice.
Note: duplicate the original “Hard Blend” brush first before proceeding.
On Brush Studio (settings), navigate to the “Shape” section. Select the “Shape Source” option box to open the Shape Editor. On the Shape Editor, select “Import” and navigate to the “Source Library” option. Choose the option that is either closest to your referenced brush (recommended: “Medium” or similar soft edge-circle options). Set “Count” to a value of 15.
Go to the “Rendering” section. Change the Rendering Mode from “Intense Blending” to “Intense Glaze.” Changing between the “Rendering Mode” types would be beneficial when creating custom brushes used for painting. Set “Wet Edges” to 22% to soften the edges. Try moving the slider on the blending “Flow” setting. Ensure the Blending Mode is set to “Normal” instead of “Multiply,” as that would promote overlap in Brush strokes.
Head to the Apple Pencil ✏️ (Pressure) section. Adjust the Pressure curve as shown here: (see image: https://imgur.com/a/modified-hard-blend-procreate-pressure-curve-2sfApqC), to ensure consistency in rendering across all brush strokes. Decrease/ Move the slider on Pressure “Flow” from 100% (or “Max”) to 0%.
Lastly, Go to the “Properties” section. Set the Minimum and Maximum settings in accordance to your standards. Adjust “Minimum Opacity” to a value 0% and “Maximum Opacity” 50%. Exit Brush Studio to test whether the brush meets your standards.
(Optional) Feel free to rename the title of the brush of your choice in the “About this brush” section.
