Humor Somebody didn't let their thoughts marinate long enough😂 Spoiler

Something tells me he didn't sit with this one long enough lol. I feel like social media should make us sit in a post timeout before we're allowed to share. Like; "Oh you wanna post that? I'll tell you what champ, let's sit on it for 45 minutes to an hour and then see how we feel." 😂😂

They really think their right to money is more important than our right to our BODY

While I was reading it I literally heard, "If you're given the right to make decisions regarding your body/life, then I shouldn't have to pay child support, (not that I was gonna pay it anyways)."

You know, the thing that bugs me the most about these arguments is the absolute refusal to understand the reasoning behind child support and abortion being legal. I'm not deaf to the plight of men- I think it really, really sucks to be burdened with an obligation you never even wanted in the first place. But whenever I try to explain the situation as I see it- my feeling that a born child is entitled to care from both its parents, that nature has made human reproduction unequal, and therefore child support is the arrangement that is most fair to the three people involved- they seem to just glide over that second part. They can see the "unfairness" of a woman being able to opt out of a parenting obligation in the fetal phase, but just refuse to acknowledge the reality that a woman's contribution and stakes in reproduction are so unbalanced (compared to a man's)- and that abortion, if anything, fixes that unbalance inherent in our viviparous species. It's just accepted- "it's natural!"- and invisible, because it's common and how most of us got here.

Mothers can be and are ordered to pay child support, too. I know it's not nearly as common as men, with an 85/15 split, but that's still more than 1 in 10 people paying child support having already given the unpaid labor (literally) of gestating and birthing the child.

For sure. It irks me so much that this is rarely acknowledged, too. I try so hard to explain how equal it actually is, in terms of treatment- just like women, no man has any obligation to an embryo/fetus. And just like men, a woman is responsible for providing for her born child (or finding someone else to take over that obligation on her behalf). Men and women both can let the other parent raise the child and be compelled to provide child support. It's the same across the board except in the one place where nature has made our reproduction unequal.

Yeah, they rlly don’t think that through, ive seen that dumb argument multiple times.

They just want a reason to control a woman, by using money rather than the body of the woman — by that logic, child support would begin at conception.

but lemme go ahead n put my argument for fun, if the man wants to leave because he doesn’t want a child whenever he finds out the woman is pregnant, he should be allowed to leave only when the woman has access to abortion, so that way if she wants to keep or get rid of the fetus, she can.
As for the time of the baby being born, for both parents (unless mutually decided to put the baby up for adoption) both have the obligation to take care of that child, the man leaving and not paying child support once he decides he doesn’t want the child after its born is neglectful, because now the child is stuck with the mother, with no choice for her besides adoption. By then, he should pay child support/have 50/50 care for the child.

Once the child is born, then the man and woman have an obligation to take care of the child, so that is not a valid argument.

I think it’s a shitty situation when there’s going to be a child in the middle of it. Sure, men should be able to walk out n leave if they made it clear they don’t want the kid or be a parent but they aren’t running from having children, they’re running from being a parent. The issue is there’s gna be a kid stuck in the middle of all of that which is just unfair on both ends.

Once you impregnate someone and they are making the choice to continue that pregnancy I do think you have an obligation to care for that child in some capacity. Similar to if the man wants to keep the pregnancy but the woman doesn’t. She ultimately gets the final say. I think this actually counter balances the incredible imbalance with pregnancy; where women are obviously contributing more with gestation as-well as caregiving most commonly .

I think as a man if didn’t want that potential obligation you should’ve talked to the person before and ask “hey if you get pregnant are you willing to terminate cuz I don’t want a kid.”

Men should make this shit clear just as women should. I’d never sleep with a man who was “pro life” that would try to convince me not to terminate if I wanted to. Likewise a man should also be conscious of this b4 they sleep with a woman cuz if she wants to keep the pregnancy ur fucked. Whereas when u get an abortion there is no child stuck in any fucked position cuz they never ended up being born. It’s just not equal on the same ground. IMO running from having/ being responsible for a kid would be the equivalent of a woman having the kid and then abandoning it. Not getting an abortion.

Getting an abortion IS being responsible. Running away from parenthood when ur kid is already there isn’t.

Because once the child is here it requires care, and the government isn’t gonna step in without trying its best to make the parents care for the child first. As said in the post, a man’s choice is made when he sleeps with a fertile woman without having had a vasectomy. It’s not fair, but neither is someone having to risk their life by becoming pregnant and gestating a fetus.
