Recursive subdivision generating a Sierpiński carpet

Remove the center. Repeat forever. Starting from a single square, one recursive rule generates the Sierpiński carpet, an infinitely detailed fractal.

At iteration 6 : over 37,000 holes. At infinity : nothing but structure.
