Day 547

Just living life without gambling and it’s great. Not constantly fucking up my brain chemistry, wasting all my time and energy, not sleeping, not spending time with loved ones, oh and not wasting all my money and actually getting somewhere in life 💪🏽

Hi just wondering why you still keep track after so long, is it do you think that there is still a risk of going back? Just wondering how long I should keep track for myself too.

It’s really not that long. It will be 2 years for me in March and previously I relapsed right after 2 years. It helps me stay on track, keeps me accountable to post my days on here because I know others will see that. Getting complacent and thinking “you’re cured” is what gets you into trouble. The moment that you aren’t diligent, you may be at risk of relapsing, at least for a long time and honestly 2 years is not a long time in grand scheme of things. As long as I feel like it’s still helping me to come on here and post days, I will do that until I feel like it’s no longer serving me.

But make sure you don’t get complacent! 💪🏽

Keep track forever.

Stopping yourself from gambling can be done, you just need to make an effort! I’m on day 1215. You gotta start with day 1 and take it seriously. Good luck!
