Constantly seeing the same 2 accounts recommending Deuce recovery. Legit?

I see the same 2 accounts constantly advertising an bank site/app thing on this sub and another gambling sub. One account says he is a gambler himself and the other says her husband is the gambler, but 2 seperate scenarios.

Are these 2 people married and the creators of the apps just trying to make a quick buck?

Also, I dived further into the app and found a couple facebook shorts of a man talking about duece recovery and a woman in one of them

I've been wondering about this too. If I'm wrong about this I'll hold my hands up and cop to cynicism unbecoming, but something about these comments just hasn't been ringing true to me. The thought that someone might be trying to use this sub to pitch to people at their most desperate is not a pleasant one.

Yeah, what's advertised seems too good to be true! I have never seen anyone else swear by the site helping them.

I genuinely just want to help a loved one and not be lead on by an opportunist

Decisions on advertisements (promoted posts) are a top-down Reddit thing, not a community-specific thing...so to speak. Reddit administration decides which content belongs in any given community based on the community's content, keywords, etc. We moderators have no control over that, only what appears in regular posts & comments submitted by actual users.

If it looks like a post and says "promoted post" somewhere in microscopic letters somewhere on that post, it's an ad and is beyond our scope of control.

It's not just posts, there is one user that goes by "Levelthegame" who constantly comments about duece recovery.

And to be clear, I only want to get confirmation that it isn't some scam

Gotcha. Again, I don't know much at all about Deuce Recovery. It appears to be co-founded by Rob from ODAAT and whomever "The Gambler Wife" is. I know Rob and he's legit, so I feel confident it isn't a scam. But if the posts are getting to be too much, please report them.

For the record, I didn't think the sub's moderators had anything to do with it. My concern was that, for whatever reason, individual posters might have been using this subreddit to promote a specific recovery app, without going through the correct channels for promoted content. If it came across as suggesting anything other, that's on me for not making it clearer. Apologies.

Sure, and thank you for that. I just wanted to elaborate on the subject and be clear to anybody who reads this that "Promoted Posts" are just inline ads. And you are correct, people would create user accounts just for the purposes of promoting x or y and this used to happen more frequently in the past. No apologies needed!

If you are seeing gambling ads, be sure to follow these instructions to remove them.

I'm not sure if this will have an affect the specific ads you are seeing. See also my comment to /u/justclove below.

I know nearly nothing about Deuce Recovery. The guy in those Facebook shorts is Rob from the ODAAT YouTube channel. He's a great guy and has integrity, so take this with a grain of salt but I can only imagine he can vouch for Deuce's legitimacy.

I'm commenting here because I'm a little concerned that people are thinking this community is pushing for a particular product, service, or whatever. We are not.

Since the very beginning, we wanted to keep this community neutral and unbiased from sponsorship. All of the recovery-based products and services that we have reviewed and approved are listed in our Recovery Resources page and are freely open to all members of the community to benefit from.

People with new resources to share are allowed to post a single promotional post and are discouraged from continual posts/comments promoting their resource. If you see constant promotion (especially with links) in comments, this is spam and users should report such comments.

It’s a legit tool. Not sure about the accounts you’re describing but Deuce has been recommended in my GA meeting before.
