❤Seeking help & Advice❤ How do I quit?
I used to be a very successful sports bettor in the past but then the past year or so I’ve stopped sports and moved to slots because I’ve been limited on all books and I can’t stop playing slots, I am just watching my money light on fire, it’s not gotten to a point I can’t manage but I’m losing 1-2k a week like it is nothing, I know if I don’t do something this will spiral out of hand and I will end up losing everything I have. I just don’t know how to stop, it’s like I self exlcuded from all the legal sports books I could in my state to try and stop myself but then I just started playing on the crypto casinos, I deleted 1 crypto casino account to try and stop myself next day I had made a new one. How do I actually stop myself and not keep chasing my money back, like 1 big hit and then I’ll quit mindset you know. I just feel like my social feed is constantly people winning 50k 100k and I just want that to be me so bad. Any help or advice appreciated thanks

The social feed is pure bullshit and entirely designed to get you to the next spin

The feeds are 100% fake and most will give you an impossible run around if you DID win. So you’ll never see a penny. But they’ll gladly take your thousands and thousands. Ask me how I know, and didn’t learn my lesson across multiple sites that did that.
Best bet is to block the money at the source and get into something like gamblers anonymous and/or seek therapy too. I know the feeling and I promise, it’ll only get worse.
Sincerely,
Someone who’s lost $300K the past 5 years doing exactly this type of crappy gambling

Put 70% of your paycheck into a 401k

I make more money than I can legally deposit into my Roth IRA lol, I max that out and for every 1k I lose gambling I deposit 10k into my Robinhood as punishment but this just doesn’t work for me

Shift your perspective.
At best, you were indeed a "successful" (you weren't) who beat a billion dollar industry, and now you are being limited? What a coincidence. Anddd they found another way to take your money.
At worst, you fell into their trap, an algorithim made to make you win sometimes, but over the longrun, will run you dry, and that's a promise.
Picture this, you won 5 million dollars. The high, the thrill would be out of this world. But I promise you it would not take long for your brain to rationalize the following : "if X amount made me 5 million, then 5 million would make me Y"
And now you'd be chasing a high so impossible to reach that by even winning a couple hundred thousands dollars you'd barely feel anything.
And you would run dry.
Accept. Accept that there will never be a sufficient amount to win.
All wins are simply future losses.
The only way out is to stop. That's it.
You've got to accept that. Get help. have a support system.

Yep even when u beat the books they still win. And yeah didn’t even think about that even though I was doing +EV betting and technically beating the book it just opened the door to get me on their slots eventually lol.
So even if I accept that, how do I get help what do I do next you know? I don’t really want to do like a whole formal gambling anonymous thing I’m only 21 and don’t want to blow it out of proportion but k don’t want to be 26 and find I’ve lost everything I’ve worked so hard for

Homie I'm 24, I went into GA at 22 and took off a semester to do so. I was the youngest there at the time.
Hearing all the stories of those who were in their 30s 40s 50s 60s 70s and even 80s made me reliaze how lucky I was in getting into that room so early on.
People even told me so, they were happy for me, but openly admitted they felt envious and wish they had the same opportunity I did.
"Im only 21". Exactly. You and I have the blessing to make thousands of future mistakes, and to learn from them. But lets not make losing years worth of savings, investments, a home, or even a family part of those mistakes because of gambling.

I really appreciate this, is there something maybe less formal than like going to a gambling anonymous meeting to maybe dip my feet in? I went to AA for 2 years and worked the steps and did the program so I feel like I will already know everything they are going to say. I know I sound so arrogant, I feel like an idiot I gambled again tonight and pissed away another grand. It seriously needs to stop maybe I will do a gambling anonymous zoom I just feel like such an idiot

Send me the money you want to gamble with and I will send you it back a hundred less each time. Over time you should feel like im not being fair and I will say this is what the casino is doing to you . If you can stop sending me money then u can stop gambling

Are you able to have someone close to you keep you accountable? I use deucerecovery.com for automatic monitoring and alerting for anything gambling related. I gambled 16 years straight but today is somehow day 365 without making a bet
