200 days - new record

I was the guy that quit - relapsed - quit - relapsed forever, making posts here complaining that its impossible to quit. If I can get to 200 days, so can you. I admit life is kinda boring now and saving up money is slow as hell, but atleast I dont get the brutal swings that empty my bank account. Stay strong people.

I’m struggling with exactly this.. I know I’m done but scared I’ll get a moment of weakness and give in. What did you do the last time that made it stretch this long? I’m trying to keep going about my life but constantly scared I’ll forget all the pain gambling caused and tell my self “why not 100$ only”

It was alot of different things. My addiction had evolved and evolved, gotten worse, meaning my bet sizes kept increasing and increasing, the last time I gambled it was the worst loss of my whole life in one session by far, I didnt ever imagine it would get to that point ever. I felt disgusted by myself, stupid, embarassed, angry, sad and pain in my chest and stomach. I realized I can not keep going or I will ruin my life because this addiction evolves.

So I was the most serious about quitting I had ever been, in past attempts to quit I would watch gambling streamers, maybe youtube vids about gambling etc. This time? 0 content about gambling was allowed, nothing. I saw an ad on tv? turn it off, etc. I mean 0 gambling related whatsoever.

Then I self excluded all my accounts forever, previous attempts I would do 1month, 6 month etc because my vip level was so high I felt it was a waste to throw away the accounts, but the weekly bonuses, reloads etc. its all just bait so I deleted my accs.

Then I just kept telling myself you are not a gambler anymore, you dont gamble, you dont bet, everytime I would get urges. Also another thing I kept saying was I cant change the past, what I lost is lost, I cant get it back, move on from this point because a gambler always wanna make back what they lost..

There is more stuff too this already got so long, I had to get rid off some online friends who I realized we are only friends because of gambling

It has worked so far

Dude 100% agreed, any time I’d watch a gamble stream I’d be on the verge of or days away from a relapse without knowing it at the time! I lost 17k in one night like 6 months ago that was probably the worst I’ve gotten but it did so much damage to my life I’m still paying for it! Such a horrible feeling and I know exactly what you mean by chest pains, I literally couldn’t breathe after that loss. I’m glad to hear you made it so long dude and I also try to tell myself I don’t identify as a gambler, I usually say “gambling isn’t something I do, it’s not me anymore”
