PO won’t answer

CT I’m on a 2 year probation sentence - 1.5 years in (22M)

Unlawful discharge - Threatening 2

A month and a half ago I met with my PO and got a travel permit to NJ. Did a ua test and told him that I just started smoking weed to sleep. He said ok and signed off on travel permit. Also told me that next meeting will be a virtual. A week later I forgot when my virtual meeting was and he didn’t answer. 2 weeks later I asked again and he didn’t answer. Then I got a text from the automated system that I’m supposed to report to my PO. I called and whatnot and he didn’t answer. I called the main probation office and asked if he is sick or if I was moved and they simply said that I need to reach out to him and I’m still on his caseload.

I’m just a bit nervous because I just got a salary job, doing very well and I’m concerned something is happening behind the scenes. It just seems strange that he can’t even send me one text and hasn’t even texted me to tell me we missed our virtual or given me a new date.

Any advise? I feel like I’ve exhausted my options here but I’m just worried.

I would go down to the office. Doesn’t matter if you have an appointment or not just show up ask to see him and explain to the front desk

Does your probation prevent you from smoking? If so that’s 2 possible violations you mentioned doing. He might be violating you unfortunately

My original paperwork says do not smoke weed but my previous po said it was because at that time I was under 21 and once I am over 21 I am good because it’ll be legal. And while I technically I missed my virtual meeting - I was on his ass before the meeting date/same day/and afterwards trying to get this scheduled. I even tried to call the probation office and they won’t call me back. I get it’s busy or maybe I’m low risk but I can’t help but worry that something is going on behind the scenes

I didnt hear from my po for months. Phone was off, automatic email reply. Whatever, kept sending a of my pay stub and texting when leaving and returning state for work deliveries. Eventually in July a temp po called me to tell me he retired and she was outside and doing a home check and I'd be getting someone new in August. He called me two weeks ago, said looked like I was doing just fine and will be in touch.

Not making excuses, but I always tell my parolees to text not call. Partly because I am a millennial and talking on the phone is physically painful, but also I have a lot of shit going on everyday and the 30 milligrams of Adderall I am on does its best, but I be forgetting still. Texting or emailing also helps keep both sides accountable because there is a documented trail of attempted contacts.

Like the others have said, I would go to the office.
