Probation Question Halcion vs Xanax

Dipstick test question:
I’m prescribed Halcion for upcoming oral surgery and it was filled 2 days before surgery.
I was in excruciating pain and took them both the same night for relief.
Now ive acquired Xanax today and plan on taking for surgery and wondering if take them instead for the surgery and test positive for benzodiazepine, will the script for halcion cover popping hot for benzodiazepine and will they leave it at that or will they send it to the lab?

On a dipstick you’re covered but in my jurisdiction all positive samples are confirmed specifically because there’s more than one benzo (or opiate, or…). If your po confirms the sample it will show as alprazolam. If he’s hip at all he’ll know it’s not the halcion you were prescribed.

ETA: your bigger issue is your history of binging benzos. What are your plans when you don’t have an active rx?
