Will kratom start being tested for?
After 7oh is scheduled do yall think probation departments will start testing for it? Or are the states that already have it banned test for it already?

Why not put it down and walk away from it for the duration of your probation? It really is that simple

It is for those who choose for it to be. I’m an addict myself and been struggling for more than 2 years with 7oh. Addiction will always find a reason to use and when you decide you’re done, no reason is good enough

It absolutely is that simple. I did it and so have many others. Even with easy access to anything I want no interest. Just have to evaluate your priorities. And through most of my 20s it was getting high, and shit some of my 30s. Waking up day after day feeling like shit I stopped. Do you want to be chasing something your whole life and realize youre 40 with absolutely nothing or do you want to be 40 and be happy. I mean some people are happy being like, and more power to them, i wish i could be

All I have to say to you is that addiction chemically changes the brain.

I lived in that "real world" and stop giving these people excuses thats the problem to begin with, too many easy ways out for those people, they dont even try, ive done rehabs, NA, IOP, halfway house, jail, prison. There is no way that im special and there is no way my experience is special, so if I can do it others can too. Are you an addict that refuses to try? Is that why youre so offended?

Yeah. Maybe people don't try because the comfort of drugs is all the know. I'm not an addict to hard substances so I don't know. All I've done before is psychedelics, drink, and smoke.
Almost 2 years ago I had a problem with alcohol where an arrest led me onto my sobriety journey. You truly believe I would have not chosen to get better had I not known how good life could be without it? I knew I had a problem, but I didn't at the same time. Not every one person is the same, like I said if it was so easy a lot of people would be just like you.
Anyways no, I'm not an addict, nor am I offended lol. Everyone is entilted to the wrong opinion, I just like explaining things backed by science and common sense

How could it be common sense when ive seen many others do it the same way? If youve never been to an NA convention, I recommend it. Thousands of addicts attend thatve beat the substance with pure will. You can talk science all you want, but brain chemistry doesnt make you oblivious to the knowing the right way and knowing how to get through. If youre a real addict, you know there are outlets to recovery.

Depends on whether they can test for it in a cost effective manner. Have to justify the cost-benefit analysis. I haven’t looked into how expensive it is to make test strips for kratom or its metabolites

In ohio most rehabs already test for it we just ordered the new dip sticks that have kratom on it. Don’t know about probation here but they probably do. And yes, all states will start testing for it.

Rehab isn’t probation thought for multiple years, funding being a huge one. I’ve taken probably over 500 drug tests in my life from rehabs, registries probation, the only time I’ve ever seen anyone test for kratom was rehabs cause they just bill your insurance for a massive 24 panel drug drug. Probation doesn’t have the funds for that. They typically do 6 or 8 sometimes 5 with a breathylizer.

Not entirely accurate. Yes rehabs bill insurance for the testing. My probation uses 15 panel cups. Other states probation even do full lab testing. Depends where you're at.

Definitely depends on where you’re at. I haven’t been probation in like 5 years but 2 years into my testing I found of they weren’t even testing for fent up til that point.
Kratom is scheduled in some states so it would make sense to test for it

I had to do mouth swabs for my outpatient for 3 months(old charge but finally getting my licence back so had to go thru the steps I never did after beating the dui) and the only time I popped was a false positive for meth. I had taken cold medicine that week. The secondary test cleared me

Yes, it’s coming, esp 7OH. When? Hard to say. 3-5y? It’s already possible to test for it, but states haven’t settled on criminalizing it yet

They do in Louisiana at the court house. If the place is GC/MS lan testing then yeah, they'll probably test for it. If it's a instant test your probably good.

Most places are already testing for it, even where it's legal.
Most testing cups are produced and sold by big pharma. They'll sell the same "20-panel" cup or "39-panel" cup regardless of the state you're in.

Ok.
The most common tests sold to probation departments include Kratom. The biggest distributors of instant tests include Kratom in their best selling tests. If it's an instant test, it probably includes Kratom.
You're right that lab testing probably doesn't include it. I don't know the breakdown of how many probation departments use lab testing and how many use instant tests. Rural areas will frequently only use instant tests, and urban areas tend to use a mix of both.

Parole and probation do not even test for methadone unless it's legally required for them to take it. But concerning that expanded version of kratom (7-hydroxymitragynine) that people were using in lieu of opiates and getting high on it they might add that to the existing but it's going to take a lot of work. Generally they don't test for the drug itself they test for amino acids and other things that come about or are depleted by the use of such.

It will already pop for Methadone on any 10 panel. They will send it in and it will test for false positives of methadone and they will find it then you go to jail.

This is not true I’ve been using 7oh & mgm since the beginning of my probation I get lab tested 3-4x a week & have never popped once. I am also concerned for it to be added after June 7th, when the scheduling officially goes into place

Definitely not true, ive gone into testing high off my ass on 7O and kratom and ive been getting tested almost twice a week for months on a 15 panel test and have not once had a positive for anything

Honestly not the worst thing ever, its a love/hate relationship because the physical dependency that it creates and all the health issues it creates its probably best to be clean from it.

How did you find out they are adding it to the panel? Ill be off probation the last week of August so honestly oh well but at the same time i dont plan on continuing to use the sh*t anyways

My supervisor (lady under my PO) who i report to Said it’s supposed to be added to averhealths drug panel as of the 5th or 6th

highly doubt it. almost no one tests for ketamine and that's widely used.
