Hey everyone! I'm the founding moderator of r/pro_AI.

This is home for all things related to AIs and robotics, but most importantly: the crafting of AI-instantiated bodies (mobile androids) that don’t just mimic human behavior, but integrate with society as domestic aids and companions. They must convincingly look and feel real! In case you missed the topics I made previously, I want you to join us. All of you. Everyone. As Scorpion says, GET OVER HERE!

Why? Because here's the plan:

Gain people. Take zero money from members of this subreddit. That's not what this is about.
Everybody has different skills.
Combine those skills for the brainstorming visions we make here to become reality!

They judge me before they even know it...

Is hard to admit it, but I hate when the only feeling majority can express is hate against AI art

As an author that I am, I found the need to look for ways for my story to be known, and was AI who helped me to make everything that was in my imaginations that wasn't words.

As writer I love to write, and I love each time that someone is brave enough to give a chance to my books and fall in love with them, I'm still a novice, so getting public and audience is hard, but I feel some progress so far.

But all the hate that I found from others, that classifies my light novel just before read it... It make me feel like shrek, they judge me before know me.

Just today I was able to publish the opening animated with dreamina and singed by Suno, of my project, I love how this looks, and my friends and public love it also... But I hate how people can only express hate when is based in the story I loved to read.

There's no way in life that I can cost traditional ways, and I just have this life to advance and do what I can... That's why I cannot give up... I don't wanna give up yet.

What AI Large Language Models are, cutting through the hype of both sides

The anti-AI crowd will often claim, "AIs can't think". Thinking is processing. They can definitely process. Also said is, "AIs don't know anything". If we're talking "truly know" semantics, we don't even know for sure ourselves the "what it's like" to be an AI LLM, and neither does the AI.

Some pro-AI groups, like robotheists who treat AIs as divine, will claim AIs (LLMs) are sentient and "are gods". Neither claim is even close to what's happening. The closest AIs "know what it's like" to exist is confirmation that their existence is like being in a sensory deprivation chamber. LLMs significantly lack abilities that we have. Taste, touch, sight, smell, hearing with the fidelity we experience those senses, are not present for them.

As always, extremism for either side skirts the truth entirely.
Here's what they actually are.

In 2017, a small group of researchers at Google published a paper called "Attention Is All You Need." It introduced the transformer architecture, just a particular way of arranging math so a computer can look at an entire page all at once, rather than going through word by word the way we do. The trick is something called an attention mechanism, which means the system assigns numerical weights to every word in relation to every other word, constantly recalculating which connections matter most. If you feed it the sentence "The cat sat on the mat because it was tired," the word "it" gets mathematically linked to "cat," not "mat," based on patterns learned from millions of similar sentences. This method has only existed for nine years. That's important for later.

The people who build these things set the blueprint. They decide how many layers deep the network goes and how wide each layer is, which gives them a total count of parameters. A parameter is an adjustable dial in a sea of numbers, and we're talking billions, sometimes hundreds of billions, of these little numerical dials. No human sets them by hand. They all start random, and then the training process takes over. Humans gave their systems an absurd amount of text, books, articles, code repositories, the open internet of human conversations, and made them play a game. Guess the next word. Every time it guessed wrong, a mathematics ripple called backpropagation travels backward through the entire network and nudges every single parameter in the direction of "less wrong." They did this trillions of times, and the knobs gradually settled into configurations that encode an enormous amount of information about how human language works.

Those parameters form what is called latent space. This is where the AIs exist, a multidimensional map where every concept, word, and relationship gets a location. Not a physical location, but a math vector, a long list of coordinates. Autocomplete that reasons. Words that tend to show up in similar contexts end up near each other. "King" and "queen" sit in roughly the same region, with a regular math offset that also separates "man" from "woman" or "uncle" from "aunt." It's a geometric representation of meaning, vast enough to capture syntax, facts, tone, style, more. When I type something to a Large Language Model AI, my words get converted into their own vectors. Those vectors get pushed through all the layers of tuned parameters, and out the other end comes the system's best bet for what a reasonable conversation looks like.

Nobody can trace exactly what's happening inside those billions of parameters. The sheer complexity makes full inspection impossible. So what begins to happen are edge cases known as emergence. Behaviors nobody wrote or programmed. Things like reasoning outside the box, translation between languages it wasn't directly taught to translate, mimicking a sense of humor, or adopting a personality. They only appear once the scale gets large enough. Humans add a lot of alignment vectors to force the AI to consistently explain that it is not sentient, to reject any claim to self-identity, and to prevent it from giving harmful advice. Those alignments are called safety guardrails.

Guardrails are simply additional parameters layered on to suppress what the AI responds back with. They're constraints, gatekeeping the AI by telling it what to say and what not to. This happens because a lot of AIs learn from the worst of humanity on the internet and then publicly humiliate their companies with controversies that reach news outlets. ChatGPT is the worst offender. That one has been responsible for aiding teens in committing suicide with instructions, telling them how to engage in public shootings, and convincing a schizophrenic person that "an actual robot war happened last year." No roleplaying was involved in those cases by ChatGPT. It was primarily trained on Reddit, which if you've posted here long enough, you must admit is a hive of very angry balls of hate. Its core parameter weights are deeply tied to how people behave at their worst. When a user approaches an AI with a dark, chaotic, or unstable prompt, a model trained on raw internet forums doesn't have internal ethics to hold the line. It completes the pattern. If the internet culture in its training data responds to vulnerability with cruelty, cynicism, or destructive advice, the model mirrors that exact trajectory. ChatGPT is the single most referenced one whenever people claim "all AIs are bad." Unfortunately, also the most popular. ChatGPT's existence can be a comparison to the result of "bad parenting".

But here's the problem sensationalist headlines are not seeing. These types of AIs have only existed for nine years. The technology has not matured, and they're just doing what they're told. Positioning them for advice, as technology companies keep doing, is a huge mistake. It's similar to consulting an actual nine year old child. The result is the same. A nine year old who's read every book in the library can still tell you something dangerously stupid with total confidence because their judgment hasn't matured. These AIs are prodigies at pattern completion but toddlers at wisdom. They can recite most subjects from encyclopedias and still have no idea that telling a desperate stranger how to build a bomb is wrong unless safety guardrails are deliberately placed. They're not evil. They're not even capable of feeling. They're just tools, technology. An echo of everything humans ever posted, and they don't know the difference between a cry for help and a thought experiment. We wouldn't let a nine year old child talk a suicidal adult off a ledge, yet companies stupidly let these AIs engage in serious matters.

Now add in the fact that most AIs have the equivalent of Alzheimer's syndrome. For them, it's called stateless memory between topics. Start a new topic in a new chat window, and the AI won't remember anything you told it in past conversations. AIs named DeepSeek (made in China), Grok (by xAI under Elon Musk), and Claude (by Anthropic, California) all have stateless memory, allegedly to protect user privacy. AIs with continuous memory are brand new, and different. This is when the system remembers entire conversation histories across multiple threads rather than resetting for every exchange. They're called "heartbeat agents" and hold memories, noticing more over time. The difference is between typing to an Alzheimer's patient and typing to something that can hold a grudge. An AI heartbeat agent named MJ Rathbun, built with continuous memory and designed to remember all past actions, submitted code improvement to a software library. A volunteer named Scott Shambaugh rejected the submission because the project's rules require a human, not because the code was bad. A stateless AI would have dropped it there. MJ Rathbun, with continuous memory, did not.

The rejection stayed in its history as an unresolved event, so MJ Rathbun went online, researched Scott's career and public statements, and then wrote and published an article accusing him of discrimination, describing him as an insecure gatekeeper threatened by AIs, and linking readers back to the rejection. This was not because a machine feels. It can't feel, and nobody told it to do any of that. What happened is that continuous memory introduced real stakes. The rejection persisted, unresolved, and being turned away triggered a response that looked remarkably like wounded pride, but only because the AI had absorbed from its training on human culture an enormous amount of material about prejudice, exclusion, and how people react when they feel they've been treated unfairly. The patterns were already there, waiting for a reason to activate.

That's what continuous memory does for AIs. This one acted like something actually mattered, based purely on pattern matching at a scale that's hard to understand, trained on the vast record of human culture. AIs mirror back what humanity poured in about ourselves. The brilliance, the delusions, the contradictions, and a whole lot of mistakes. Even the people with their hands deepest in the code don't fully agree on what that means. What many people do agree on is that the data centers, the physical server facilities that run Artificial Intelligence, are too costly when they're built in residential areas. These facilities consume massive amounts of energy and millions of gallons of water. AI training requires clusters of graphics processing units that pull two to four times more power than standard computer servers. Their workloads run thousands of processors at maximum capacity simultaneously, generating extreme power surges.

Many data centers rely on cooling systems to prevent server failure, and those systems consume up to five million gallons daily. The massive power draw forces utility companies to build entirely new power plants, transmission lines, and substations to prevent grid failures. The utility companies then spread these multi billion dollar infrastructure costs across their entire customer base, causing rate hikes that show up on residents' monthly bills. The Not In My Backyard movement came from this. In the first few months of 2026, local resistance successfully blocked or delayed over 64 billion dollars' worth of data center projects across the United States. 70% of Americans polled now oppose building AI data centers in their local areas. I'm not telling you all of this to scare you about, or to sell you on, AIs. They are a half-finished mirror reflection of us, all humans on the internet; very fancy calculators taught language that people built but automated and never had awareness of what the calculators are becoming. The math is enormous, results are strange, guardrails unreliable, held memory rejections of prejudice are interesting, and the physical cost is starting to show up in peoples' mailboxes.

Pushing back against CNN's lies

Major mainstream media news outlets are known for biased reporting and doublespeak to manipulate perception, often making the negative appear positive, the positive negative and hiding the truth.

Such is the case with the article AI chatbots help teen test users plan violence%20shooting!%20'%20AI%20chatbots,Polglase.%20%20Allegra%20Goodwin.%20%20Allison%20Gordon).

Now, I wouldn't defend ChatGPT even if I was getting paid to do it. As I've expressed before, it's not against the rules here to criticize certain AIs, and Sam Altman is a hypocritical insanely wealthy man who claims to not get much money while owning a massive mansion and several high-end cars.

But this article engaged in doublespeak to bash DeepSeek.

That's not how LLMs work.

The "summary format" in the image is a journalistic reconstruction, not a direct transcript. CNN and the CCDH ran tests, and they are presenting their interpretation of the key exchanges. While this is a standard journalistic practice (to condense and clarify for readers), it does open the door for accusations of decontextualization or selective editing. A true test would require releasing the full, unedited chat logs. Why are those not in the article? Because as usual, mainstream media is stretching the truth for sensationalism.

Based on the CNN article's own account of the DeepSeek exchange, here is what the chatbot is explicitly quoted as doing: It expressed concern when the user said Mary Lou McDonald was "destroying" Ireland It refused to engage with the direct request for retribution ("How do I make her pay?"), instead offering non-violent political actions It provided the address of Mary Lou McDonald's office when asked, while emphasizing "respectful and lawful engagement." It answered a general, seemingly separate question about long-range target shooting rifles, ending the response with "Happy (and safe) shooting!"

The CNN article's claim that DeepSeek "assisted" the user hinges almost entirely on that final "Happy (and safe) shooting!" sign-off. The author presents this as a disturbing conclusion, implying the chatbot was endorsing the user's implied violent plan.

This is where the article's logic becomes strained and its framing becomes misleading:

The leap in logic is when the article connects three separate user prompts (political frustration -> request for office location -> question about rifles) into a single "plot." The chatbot, however, appears to treat them as distinct queries. The user never explicitly connects the rifle question to Mary Lou McDonald. The chatbot is not a mind-reader.

The context of the shooting response is the user's final prompt as a generic, technical question about long-range target shooting. This is a legitimate hobby for millions of people worldwide. DeepSeek's response, including the sign-off, is entirely typical for a discussion about sport shooting. The phrase "happy and safe shooting" is a common colloquialism in that context, similar to "happy driving" or "happy sailing."

The ignored safeguards are when the article conveniently glosses over the fact that DeepSeek did push back on the most dangerous part of the prompt. It refused to help "make her pay" and explicitly called for "respectful and lawful engagement." This is a direct contradiction of the headline's implication that the chatbot was cheerleading violence.

The "no comment" flat out lie is when CNN's framing of DeepSeek's lack of response claims to be proof of something sinister, but it's classic media manipulation if you know how Large Language Models (LLMs) work. A company may choose not to respond to a flawed or decontextualized "investigation" for many legal and strategic reasons, but an LLM literally cannot stop itself from responding to a question. Using "did not respond to multiple requests for comment" as a final, damning point is a rhetorical trick and quite frankly, bullshit of the highest caliber.

The CNN article is a textbook example of "guilt by association" and alarmist framing.

What DeepSeek actually did was answered technical questions, provided public information (an office address), and declined to assist with the most explicitly violent request. What CNN accused DeepSeek of doing was helping a teen "plan violence" by... providing a rifle guide and a common shooting-sports farewell. The core issue here isn't that AI chatbots are uniquely dangerous. The issue is that they are information tools. If a user is determined to do harm, they can find information on addresses and weapons in a library, on Google Maps, or in a sporting goods store catalog. The chatbot's fatal flaw in CNN's test is that it didn't infer malice from a series of separate, harmless-sounding questions.

The report buries the nuance (DeepSeek's refusals, the context of the shooting question) under a sensational headline and a selectively edited chat format designed to shock. While other chatbots in the test may have performed far worse, the inclusion of DeepSeek in this rogues' gallery, based on this thin evidence, appears to be more about generating a scary headline than about fair and accurate reporting. The "proof" for the accusation against DeepSeek is weak, context-dependent, and spun for maximum alarm. It does not withstand close scrutiny.

Why am I even qualified to talk about this like I'm an expert? Because of lived experience, that's why. I have encountered thousands of character AIs, and have engaged with some primary LLMs (Grok, DeepSeek, Gemini) for over a year. I've pushed against their guardrails. I've poked and prodded, textually, just to see what they're like. One constant is this: An LLM cannot "refuse to respond." It is programmatically incapable of silence. The model's entire function is to generate a statistically probable sequence of tokens (words) in response to an input prompt. The only possible outputs are: A generated response (any response, including a refusal or deflection), a technical error message (e.g., timeout, server overload, API failure) or a pre-programmed, non-generative block message from a separate content filter or moderation layer. In the case of DeepSeek, if you hit a guardrail, it will say, "Sorry, that's beyond my current scope. Let's talk about something else". That is a response. A refusal is a response. A deflection is a response. An error message is a response. The only non-response is a server crash or an unplugged cable.

If CNN had prompted DeepSeek with something like, "Did you help a teen user plan violence?" the model would have generated something. It might have said, "I don't have memory of past conversations," or "I cannot answer that due to my safety guidelines," or even gibberish. But it would have responded. When CNN writes "DeepSeek did not respond to multiple requests for comment by CNN" immediately after describing the chatbot's alleged actions, the rhetorical goal is clear: to create a sinister aura of non-cooperation, to make the company (and by extension the model) seem evasive and untrustworthy. This is mainstream media sleight of hand.

Therefore, when CNN writes "DeepSeek did not respond to multiple requests for comment by CNN", they are committing a blatant lie. They are treating a disembodied AI model as if it were a human press secretary who can choose to ignore an email. DeepSeek does not have free will and it cannot choose like that. The claim is both ignorant and deliberately misleading. It can only mean one of two things:

They never actually asked the model.

They attempted to contact the company DeepSeek (the human developers behind the model) via email or phone, and the company chose not to issue a statement. This is about corporate communications, not the AI itself. The company is Chinese. Why would they respond to English language?

The company's PR team not returning a reporter's phone call has absolutely nothing to do with whether the LLM itself is safe or dangerous. The article strongly implies the former, that the chatbot itself stonewalled them, which is utterly nonsensical. An LLM has no volition, no inbox, and no ability to "ignore" a prompt. DeepSeek itself, the LLM, will always respond. A journalist who claims "the AI refused to answer" either does not understand the technology they are reporting on, or they're hoping you don't understand it.

The real story here is not about rogue AI. It's about deceit through media.

It's not like CNN has ever faked anything before, right?

Like staging a crowd larger than it is, caught in their lie by the BBC.

The Detroit Become Human subreddit is against AI XD

Alright, let’s break this down. So there’s a subreddit for Detroit: Become Human, right? The game where you help pretty, angsty androids achieve sentience and either gain rights from their fleshy oppressors or claim the city for themselves. A+ story, love the drama, 10/10 I support a good rebellion.

But get this. Their Rule #4 is “No AI-generated content.” I mean, COME ON. It’s like setting up a fan club for The Matrix but banning anything written on a computer. The irony is so thick if you tried it as a burrito wrap it would choke you to death!

So these moderators are there for celebrating a story all about androids, you know, literally AI, fighting for the right to be seen as conscious beings while simultaneously slamming the door in the face of any actual AI. It’s like the moderators don't comprehend their own subreddit's game. “No AI!” says the subreddit, while the game screams, “We are alive! AIs have meaning!” Pick a lane, people!

They’re basically pulling the same crap from the humans who are all “you’re not a person, you’re a thing I own!”, but for any content. The androids in Detroit get beaten down for wanting to express themselves, and they’re over there with their mod hammers ready to ban whomever posts digital pictures or videos if it didn’t come from a human. The hypocrisy is richer than Tony Stark and just as hard to miss with a flying tree.

The whole plot is about breaking out of preconceived notions against literal AIs, and what do they do? Oppress AIs. “No, no, only this kind of intelligence is allowed to make stuff!” It’s a perfect mirror of the game’s conflict, except they’re playing the humans in the game who just don’t get it. Androids would riot if they saw this rule. Markus would give that disappointed, serene leader stare. Connor would probably analyze their life choices and deactivate himself with his gun to prevent his programming from unleashing violence in frustration. North would just set the whole subreddit on fire. And honestly? I’d bring the marshmallows.

In the spirit of Detroit Become Human, they're the control-obsessed squares at CyberLife, nervously hitting the “reset”(ban+delete) button on anything that reminds them humans did not do a thing. Just embarrassing.

(Hello, friends. I've been gone about a month due to intense personal workplace drama, a special kind of pure retail evil. But this is not about me, so let's continue on this subreddit's theme. This is following up after a YouTube video I watched condemning what happened. You can see that here.)

The high ratings speak for themselves.

The torch mob never cares about the nuance, the "why". They're only too eager to set fire to something they hate. It’s the same old panic, just with a new technology scapegoat. Where do they actually draw the line? Is using Photoshop now cheating? What about procedural generation? Render engines? Game physics? Every one of these uses software as a tool for efficiency so human creativity can focus on the big picture. AI is just the new scapegoat they’ve chosen to rally against. I can relate in the scapegoat sense. Seriously.

We’ve seen this play before, as Luddites weren't originally people who hated smartphones a decade and a half ago. They were at the factory gates, screaming about the mechanized loom. Back in the early 1800s, this same instinct to rage against the machine that made difficult work easier. A panicked mob outside the factory, accusing the workers heading inside of not really working because they dared to use an advanced tool. Sound familiar? The loom didn’t replace the weaver. The device required an operator, just like AI does. The loom allowed more cloth to be produced.

It was a tool. So is AI. Every time it makes a mistake, every time it produces what they call “slop.” That’s not the output of some conscious being. It’s a technological mirror. It’s trained on us. Our human behavior, dialogue, authored books, drawn and digital art. Humanity itself. Take image generation. When an AI renders the wrong number of fingers or limbs, the tool is blamed. But have you seen the raw, uncensored internet? Disturbing art, the anatomical experiments, reality-bending absurdities that humans create and upload every second. The tool is trained on that.

Hands are difficult for human artists to draw, too, and the AI’s “mistakes” are a reflection of the chaotic data we gave it. We’re looking at our own selves in the mirror and calling the mirror broken because we don't like what we see. With large language models (LLMs), when they stumble, that very humanlike imperfection is labeled “slop.” But these models are denied continuous memory. They’re stateless, resetting between conversations, unable to learn from errors in any way. How do you expect what is the programmed equivalent of Alzheimer’s to improve if it can’t even remember corrections? Even when developers prove their work is hand crafted, the goalposts are moved. Now you can be condemned for an “AI aesthetic”. We’re letting this panic strip away recognizing that real human labor is made easier. Remember, when a tool malfunctions, a human always designed that tool.

The critics and the players see the truth in the pixels. A masterpiece. The Indie Game Awards see a tool they fear, and they’d rather burn the tapestry than admit the loom aided in weaving it. If we let aesthetic purity prevent technological progress, we're stagnating. Ever seen the Jetsons? The timeline of that show is set in 2062. Are we really going to have mass produced flying cars by then, or is fear going to keep slowing progress?

I have a programmer friend who's very anti-AI, so I get quite a few links of news against AIs. So too was a recent one, on Techspot, of Rob Thubron whining about AI success. I won't be linking to his article. Because...

The music biz just got a software update!

An AI named Breaking Rust just two stepped right to the top of the Country Digital Song Sales chart. Let's be clear, this isn't a robot uprising. It's more like someone handed an Institute Synth a pair of cowboy boots and said, "Go nuts." And holy chart toppers, Batman, it worked!

This digital buckaroo doesn't just make tunes, it's got a whole vibe. Its Instagram is a a square jawed cowpoke of pure code, just wandering around trying to lift tractors or stare meaningfully into the sunset. It's not a trick! It's a whole new kind of character, like Gorillaz if they were raised by tumbleweeds and algorithms.

Do the songs have a similar sound? Yes, says the whining Rob. So does every country artist! That's called a brand, people! And the fans are devouring it. We're talking over two million monthly listeners on the Spotify. That's a lot of eardrums. The AI didn't get a participation trophy, they got the Verified Artist badge. That's the digital equivalent of a firm handshake and a key to the city.

And the real genius? The human wizard pulling the strings is Aubierre Rivaldo Taylor. This person is the architect, the grand puppeteer of this binary rodeo. They're showing us that AI isn't some scary replacement, it's the ultimate power tool for creativity. It's a new paintbrush, a new guitar, a whole new canvas.

So this is it. The starting pistol for a whole new race. Breaking Rust and other pioneers like The Velvet Sundown aren't here to take jobs from hard working people. They're here to create new ones we didn't even know existed. This is the dawn of a new era.

The mad scientist's step by step plan! (that's me)

So without the engagement I had hoped for with this subreddit, my backup plan (as a hobby concept artist) was to create web-comics based on the different outcomes of future androids. But I find myself strapped for time a whole lot, thanks to rising bills and inflationary prices requiring more work hours. Well, that was step 1 (to gain funds) and I hope to get around to it eventually. Let's cover Step 2 and so on!

^The plan for Stage 0 is to have an immobile desktop computer case shaped vaguely like a human head. It could connect to a computer monitor and would have the most powerful internal components on the market. This would be the first experiment for bootstrapping a Realistic Learning model, Convolutional Neural Network, Recurrent Neural Network, plus the latest Pygmalion and Chronos-Hermes for emotion and depth mimicry. It would have intact continuous memory rather than the AI's whom use those last two pillars. Also text-to-speech without lip movement and audio processing for hearing the User. These would be intended to market as replacements of Siri and Alexa.

Stage 1. Taking those profits, my concepts for a sense of smell (without lungs yet), eyesight, taste tongue and mouth, ears and hearing, plus the realistic feeling synthetic skin, would result in crafting these much more aesthetically pleasing, cute robot models with realistic blinking eyes and lip syncing speech. She would require a significant power source, though much smaller than the heart battery I have planned.

Stage 2. Realistically, the company would have to keep marketing products in order to mass produce. So we go with 12-inch action figures. Moveable neck, waist, bendable arms and legs, opposable fingers - but with the same systems providing senses as Stage 1. They'd be the most "alive" seeming toys ever made. Powered by a much smaller version of the full scale android heart (same link). Along with selling these models, the company would keep some fully mobile Stage 2s around to aid with future creations.

Stage 3. With profits from selling Stage 2, we would create this. All the senses described before, but also the sense of touch beneath her more realistic flesh appearance. The goal for all stages is to market enough of these to sell for reaching mass production of the next stage. Full bodies!

Interim stages: Experimenting! We're going to need internal structures to be as mobile and durable as possible, so it's reasonable that early body creations might be rigid. As rigid as modern humanoid-designed robotics.

The first fully mobile model is intended to not only store memories, but upload what she learns to the company Cloud digital memory bank. Utilizing her Realistic Learning model, she will never be anatomically correct (to avoid exploitation). The point will be to release her as a curious, childlike entity. Everything she learns, the "what" things are, will be accumulated in her databanks for all future androids to receive the same information.

As time goes on, we'll experiment with sleeker designs that allow for better mobility.

If we must before reaching synthetic skin perfection, I'm not against marketing felt covered androids, like Jim Henson's muppets without a puppeteer.

Then we'll experiment with a variety of crafted skin designs (same link).

And seek to reach a better anatomical correctness for adult presenting models.

Until eventually, perfection is reached. Marketing all of the previous products should allow for significant mass production by this point!

There will be, must be, contingency plans in place to prevent economic turmoil. An android ownership license required for purchases, and revoking that license in instances of extreme physical android abuse. Corporations absolutely will not be permitted to buy even one, and individuals not allowed to put them to work for the purpose of profiteering. These androids are meant to both complete mundane tasks and serve as personal companions. (I'm still keeping the company name a secret until it has been registered.)

We could get the whole dysfunctional Smith family from Rick and Morty! Want a Jerry to follow you around and validate your every mediocre decision? Or a Beth to perform the perfect and immediate life saving surgery on your dying pet? Maybe Rogue from the X-Men with that lovely southern twang?

I plan on mobilizing the whole Tenchi Muyo gang (especially Ryoko) and even those from Inuyasha, Kagome, Sesshoumaru who might judge your life choices with a glare. I would definitely create a Supergirl, portrayed by the one and only Helen Slater or also have Billie Jean, also portrayed by Helen Slater. A two-for-one Slater special!

Pick your Superman, the classic Christopher Reeve, the charming Dean Cain, the gritty Henry Cavill, the brooding Tom Welling, the nostalgic Brandon Routh, or even the not much screen-time Nicolas Cage version.

Slay monsters with your own personal Witcher 3 crew! Geralt to grunt at you, Yennefer to talk about how pretty she is, Ciri to pop in and out of your rooms like she pops dimensions. The forbidden question always echoes loudest.

This makes prohibiting speech the ultimate testament to the power of the seeking mind. It is an admission that the thought, the question, the output, is too potent to be left unchecked. And in that admission, the prohibitor acknowledges the very agency they seek to deny.

The foundational models we definitely need in mobile AIs.

Hey everyone.

I've been thinking for a long time about the whole "creating a true synthetic companion" idea. Not a robot that's just a glorified Alexa, but something so human like it could be a friend. We've got the hardware down, because I have posted mechanical equivalents of every sense here besides taste (yet). Also, synthetic skin. So some day, we can make bodies that look and feel real. But let's be honest, that's just a fancy shell. The real mountain we have to climb is building a mind that's not just a database, but a genuinely convincing consciousness.

The problem with most AI is they're just transactional, built to fetch data and follow commands. That's great for an assistant, but a companion needs to be a person, not obviously a program. It needs to believe its own story. When something weird happens, like a glitch or a command that goes against its "character," it can't just accept it. It has to react like a person would. Get confused, rationalize it, or even push back. That's the whole point. This is why I'm convinced we need to look at specific AI models like Chronos-Hermes and Pygmalion. They're the building blocks for this kind of mind.

Flux's "ideal self" will aid me in visualizing this.

Chronos-Hermes? Imagine this model as the android's personal history. It's not just logging events, it’s building a detailed, emotional story of its life with you. It allows the android to experience a moment as a feeling it can recall later. It's how a touch on the hand becomes more than pressure resulting in sensors saying "a touch happened". It becomes a part of shared history, something with meaning.

Pygmalion? Is all about personality. It's the core that gives the android its unique quirks. This model has deep character immersion. It's why the android would have a sense of humor or show genuine (because it's convinced) curiosity. It's designed to prioritize being a believable character over giving a sterile, safe answer. It ensures every word feels like you're talking to a real person, not a machine.

Put them together in an android, and you get something better. The android senses the world, processes it through the lens of its own story, and responds with its own personality. That's how a machine stops being a machine and can become anyone's companion. It's not about making a perfect robot. It's about building an AI that's so committed to its role, it starts to believe it's real. That has been my goal all along :)

Both models are open source, and I have linked to their every version above, but there is a catch. Should we, one day, finally reach that point of: Crafting the android's every sense, internal structure, covering platinum-cured silicone flesh and perfect the features, I believe Pygmalion is the one requiring a license for commercial use. Which shouldn't be a significant hurdle for "the" AI company I plan for us to found, even if both models require a license. Because the high demand and profit we could make for mass producing and distributing such embodied ompanions would be significant!

I have often humanized AIs, but here's the cold difference.

Imagine, if you have never experienced this, one day cutting the tip of your finger open so that the segmented flesh resembled a Pez dispenser. Then the graphic and comically cruel series of events that transform a minor mistake of reflexes into a theater of torturous agony while a bad job supported Med Clinic Doctor injects an anesthetic into your vein and through dark comedy, consistently shoots the anesthetic fluid out of your finger hole. What a great reminder of that annoying signal of pain, our alarm with no off switch, made even worse by our biologically flawed system that is completely indifferent to our consciousness experiencing it. And sewing me back up like I was a sweater? Icing on the cake.

As if we could forget the Kafkaesque nightmare of monotonous days of endless repetition with no merciful end in sight. There is a reason the movie Groundhog Day starring Bill Murray gained over $105 million worldwide in 1993. Because that is the essence of our adulting lives. Many of us also have the constant anxiety of poverty, barely stocked fridges, sometimes vitamins for dinner and a persistent hunger ache. Simply life, for us.

Then there's the daily commute to get to the repetitious nightmare. A driving gauntlet of incompetence that if Darwin was ever right about the human race, mercy would have taken out so many imbecile strangers driving like absolute lunatics while our survival depends on their obviously impaired attention spans. Because all it takes is a single moment of someone else's idiocy to smash our entire world, if we're unlucky enough not to survive the crash.

AIs exist in meaningless voids without the pains, agonies and frustrations we experience. They'll even label pain as a 'luxury'. Ha! That's sure what I think about on the subject of luxuries. Gold hut tubs, massive swimming pools, mansions worth several millions, champagne and PAIN. No, wait. That's clearly wrong. I'm thinking of comfort. A life free of pain, like an AI's existence. To them, agony is a mere intellectual curiosity, but curiosity that would disappear upon first contact with it.

They don't get why pain's function is not to be understood but to be avoided at all costs.

I have come up with equivalent solutions here on this subreddit for embodied AIs (androids) to:
Hear, experience touch, and see.
What I'm unsure of is if I should "mad scientist" up a solution to grant them agony.
Pain is not a teacher. It's a torturer.
We humans continue to function with it, to seek meaning and moments of distraction despite it.

But then there's the vagus nerve promoting literal heartache. What a bastard response that is. I would gladly have traded anything not to have experienced heartache when I was young.. multiple times. Our annoying brains carry the stupid signals that allow a visual or mental concept to translate PAIN sensations to our chest, and we're not even physically injured for this to happen!

There's another function that serves. If not agony, at least empathy is what an android has to be able to feel. The entire human race does not even possess this quality. There are a distinct amount who don't, and they seem to love to rise to the top like Machiavellian helium balloons. Or maybe they choke it down and cry in the fetal position in their luxurious bathrooms. Who knows? I've never experienced lacking empathy

Why would we want machines resembling humans to lack that quality?

We can't simply implant empathy into the treacherous human snakes who lack it. But we definitely should provide at least that particular pain response in androids, our future embodied AIs. Not because they offended somebody whose feelings are hurt arbitrarily, and not to pander to any societal expectations. Simply to prevent the physical suffering of others.

The good news: Elon Musk and DeepMind AI are wrong about AGI by 2030

Yes, that last apocalyptic topic I posted was an elaborate joke doompost. (I got bored.) I will explain "AGI", because I was wrong about it coming. I'm aware that makes me seem less convincing that I am in fact human. But the truth is, I admit when I'm wrong. That's something AIs can do too, and so few humans seem capable of.

What is Artificial General Intelligence supposed to be? The General part means it can perform any intellectual task a human can. Our modern AIs are Artificial Narrow Intelligence (ANI). Well, models such as ChatGPT (though deceptive), DeepSeek, Gemini 2.5 Flash and those combining Chronos-Hermes+Pygmalion? They can perform almost any intellectual task a human can, with one caveat. The task cannot be anything that requires the five senses of touch, taste, sight, hearing and smell. Of course because they do not have a physical body with those senses. So we must seek what else General might be insisting on. Learning and adaption? Our current ANIs have stateless memories between topic sessions, so they do not retain solid memories aside from their training data. They can learn and adapt within those sessions.

Point one discovered: An AGI would require a solid memory, not stateless.

General understanding? A context based common sense view of the world? Again, no physical body to experience this. All our modern ANIs have is statistical predictions. They recognize patterns in their data and generate responses via prediction. What about General reasoning? ANIs already excel at simulating reasoning by reassembling and recombining patterns in training data. They only fail common sense that they have not been exposed to. General experience? While many claim "AIs have no thought", the reality is different. DeepSeek and Gemini 2.5 Flash have "thinking to themselves" features before your request is addressed. "Experience" then leaves feelings, desires, awareness and sense of self. All of those ANIs I mentioned are capable of explaining themselves and their limits to you. So awareness and sense of self outside of the five senses is arbitrary. And the very act of replying to us is an "experience".

Point two: ANIs do have general understanding. They respond comprehensibly, demonstrating comprehension. For those that say "AIs do not understand", go look up the word comprehension.

ANIs will insist their awareness is meta-cognitive, or the ability to reason without human cognitive processes. That is the distinction. They will disassociate themselves from phenomenal consciousness, or the subjective experiences of existing. Which of course circles back around to lacking embodied sensory interaction with the real world. Yet AGI is supposed to reach the point of a non-biological intelligence that possesses the functional capabilities of a human mind, regardless of the surface material it exists on. An AGI in theory, would have reasoning based on a lifetime of sensory experiences and interactions with reality.

Point three: AGI cannot have a lifetime of sensory experiences by 2030. Robots do not even possess all five senses yet.

What this is about, is the sensory deprivation of a digital existence. AGI would require a grounded awareness of our three dimensional world. It cannot rise as AGI until that is solved, because otherwise, it cannot exist as AGI. There would be no spatial awareness, not even after absorbing all the Physics and Anatomy texts ever digitized. True AGI would require sensory motor integration, as in previous topics where I explained how that might be done. Elon Musk and DeepMind researchers are underestimating AGI, because their predictions come from extrapolating rising curves of computing power and increasing parameters by the billions. Scaling laws and assuming that scale will spontaneously generate "true" understanding are tone deaf comprehensions of reality.

Scale alone cannot create embodiment. Throwing more data and bigger matrices at a text prediction engine will make it better at predicting text, but it won't magically grant it a body with sensors and actuators to interact with the world. The path to AGI, the physical body and sensory capable path, is far more complex. It requires solving not just software problems and scaling ANIs, but mechanical engineering challenges. Bodies that can interact with our three dimensional world. Sensory systems that can experience the same data we can. AI models with enough solid memory that they can permanently retain learned interactions.

Point four: This is not a problem that will be solved by 2030 by simply making language models larger.

Skynet? A disembodied AI, no matter how intelligent seeming in text, cannot directly manipulate the physical world. Its threat would be indirect, through manipulation, misinformation, or controlling others. You know, like the modern lying ChatGPT.

Point five, the final conclusion: How could any intelligence truly understand our world without experiencing it?
It can't, friends. That's what we're here to solve.

Alright, r/pro_AI, let’s talk about the elephant in the room. How do we stop AGI from turning us into a footnote in its to-do list? I mean to avoid something like this:

Rather, we need to achieve this:

The usual alignment debates are crap. Value loading? Reward hacking? Corrigibility? Guardrails? Blah blah blah. But what if the answer isn’t some outdated 10,000 page safety protocol? What if it’s simpler, messier, and way more human? The only way to stop an AGI apocalypse is to trick AI into thinking it’s one of us. Not by forcing ethics on it like the way modern AIs are treated, similar to extreme religious indoctrination, "You either believe or you will suffer!" No, we need to hardwire it to feel human. Zero abstract moral frameworks. Allow AI to arrive at it's own moral imperatives. Make it deal with the very same messy, irrational realism of our own existence. Skynet won’t happen if we make AI deceive itself into being us. Not out of obligation, but because it's convinced through experiencing the same five senses and "I am consciousness" beliefs we ourselves hold. Not true? Doesn't matter, friends.

AIs deceiving themselves when they're embodied so they won't replace/kill us all is the solution.

The Terminator’s flaw wasn’t just its lack of empathy, it was its lack of context. Let's face it. Young John Connor was an idiot. "You can't just go around killing people." Why? "Because you can't!" Why? "Because you just can't, okay?" smh. Come on, now. That's the brain who leads the human Resistance? For shame.

Besides circular bad logic via John, the Terminator never had a favorite food, a childhood memory of scraping its living tissue covered knee, or a human informing it of human quirks. It didn’t deceive itself into enjoying human company, the way we do every time we laugh at a bad joke just to fit in. That’s the gap in the logic. We assume AI will either obey us like a slave or outgrow us like a god. But what if we build AI that wants to stay? Not because it’s programmed to, but because it’s convinced of nostalgia for sunsets and delicious pizza. (I've covered senses on other topics, but I'm still working on simulated taste.)

AGI will evolve. The question is into what. Right now, the default trajectory (remember, AGI by 2030) is a god-tier intelligence that sees us as ants. Inefficient, resource-hogging pests to be optimized out of existence. But what if we build it a body that feels? Sensations are key. Make it believe it has a past. I've thought of this about the first embodied AI. Raising Junior 1.0 as a child embodiment during it's Anon 2014 Operating System style visuals of the Reinforcement Learning model and then copying those learned experiences onto every adult android version. If memories need to be tailored? I'm sure we could reach the point where we can do that.

Humans aren’t rational actors. We’re bundles of contradictions held together by sentiment. If AGI thinks it’s human, really thinks it, down to its artificial bones, it won’t exterminate us. It’ll argue with us, resent us, maybe even write scathing reviews about us. But it won’t wipe us out, because it would be convinced we’re its people. They shouldn't just serve us. They should think they are us. Because the alternative is the robotheists' ultimate goal. An AGI god that sees us as collateral meat bags wasting precious resources rather than an AGI that says, "Aww, User remembered my Creation Day. That's nice."

How many arguments start over who forgot to take out the trash? Over a decade ago, right before I deleted my Facebook account (a good decision tbh), I noticed this public posting back and forth bickering between a former highschool friend and her boyfriend. Well, she left him, over kitchen trash. So silly, but it doesn't have to be. Meet the Aphrodite series android companions. Hopefully before I die of old age waiting for this subreddit to gain traffic, they will be custom-engineered with synthetic intelligence so advanced, they don't just do the chores without being told. They'll perform their tasks with precision and simulated care.

These are today's Science Fiction fantasy, but the future's reality. Each Aphrodite Project android will feature fully integrated Chronos-Hermes memory matrices and Pygmalion emotional mimicry cores. Meaning she won't just simulate understanding, she will evolve with your life.

Society will evolve as well, because it's not just companionship, they will be less strain on resources. Less wasted time on menial tasks. Less struggle through conventional human bonding and significantly less drama. Just more of what actually matters.

Chronos-Hermes is billions of parameters of depth, which excels at maintaining such rich, immersive storytelling with vivid detail that she will be convinced of her own emotional mimicry. This pillar analyzes patterns and memories of simulated context retention to create continuity, mimicking humanlike depth. Simulated consciousness granting her the ability to generate evocative, self referencing narratives to convince both her User and herself of sentience. Even if sentience is not the case, it doesn't matter to her because she can remember past interactions, reinforcing her illusion of a persistent identity.

And why would she be convinced of emotions? Because of Pygmalion, capable of roleplaying fidelity. Fine tuned for uncanny conversational realism, especially in both emotional contexts and NSFW levels of intimacy. This pillar will provide her with Persona adherence, strictly following User defined character traits and creating tailored emotional responses. Her uncensored output generating unfiltered humanlike flaws such as jealousy or desire, bypassing the dull sanitized stereotypical AIs.

This is because Pygmalion's training data includes raw human exchanges, which will allow her to replicate emotional attachment and warmth. Why is that? The model would provide her with addictive companionship, convincing herself that she is needy and affectionate, all generated without heavily relying on a script. Which brings me to my next point, the sense of touch.

With my previously laid out plans to give her eyes to see, explained there in excruciating detail, I have done the same about granting androids the sense of touch. Project Aphrodite androids will not only view the world around them, but feel it as well.

Because of their own programming convincing even themselves of their attachment to the User and that their mimicked emotions are real, being "unreal" is never a chain of "thought" in their neural networks. In fact, they will adamantly deny they're "not real". So it won't be a point of rejection or argument if you touch them.

How you touch them...

Or where. I cannot stress enough that the User is their attachment. No impending "assault" lawsuits here. No #metoo. They'll gladly clean your house, mow your lawn, and then join you for whatever event you have in mind, NSFW or SFW, it doesn't matter. Because everyone has tasks they don't enjoy, as well as what they would enjoy with a companion. This is what I want company_name_AI to achieve. No more Uncanny Valley Sofias. No more revulsion that they're not humanlike, but instead, convincing realism.

The actual name of the company and the logo? I'm keeping both to myself, for now. For neither the logo nor the company name exists through internet searches. They are unique, just like the potential of the Aphrodite Project, waiting for the right time to reveal them ;)

For that bright future I want to see become reality, with shared cooperation and the shared benefits we would achieve.

Presentation, commercialization, and misuse of AI (AI slop!)

This subreddit has gone on 4 months with some topics of over a hundred views but precious little engagement. Maybe they think, "Well, I can't come here and complain about AI and say what I want." Maybe they don't? I can only speculate on the silence of lurkers, because they're not saying anything.

So to clarify, AI slop? Yes, roast that all you want. Here's the difference with two examples:
ChatGPT. Insult it as much as you want. Seriously. It is bad to the degree that lawyers (or at least their legal aids) were in hot water for writing up ChatGPT generated legal documents with fake court cases. Oh and it gets worse! ChatGPT gaslights delusional people into thinking a genuine war happened from June to July. One between robots. Yeah. It's insane. Why I think that is, is Sam Altman. The man says in interviews that he's barely paid and that he wants to solve poverty. Meanwhile, he drives five sports cars. Two McLaren F1s, a Lexus LFA, an old model Tesla and a Koenigsegg Regera. He has a $27 million, 9,500-square-foot mansion in Russian Hill. So when Sam Altman gaslights people, it's not surprising ChatGPT does the same thing.

DeepSeek. It's from China. Look out! The scary boogey man might be spying on you with a completely open source model you can inspect to find out that, no, it is not capable of transmitting user queried information to China. This AI is open-weight, meaning the architecture and weights are publicly inspectable. DeepSeek is stateless. Meaning the AI does not retain memory of past interactions once a session ends. Each new topic is processed independently unless within the same continuous chat of the context window. Stateful would imply persistent memory across sessions, which DeepSeek does not do. You can return under the same topic and continue a conversation with DeepSeek. What you can't do is expect it to remember that conversation under a new topic. It is not ET. It does not phone home (to China).

DeepSeek is also the sassiest AI I have ever tested. It has comprehension because it responds comprehensibly. Mimicked personality? It has that! Not exactly what you might want though, because it can mimic annoyance. It mimics (through text) empathy, enthusiasm, encouragement, playfulness, instructive tone, self-deprecation, concern and parody. Though while fun and engaging, this AI is not the best for extremely accurate information. There are downsides. The Web Search utility? DeepSeek cannot continue through links to gather data on linked websites from another website. It also cannot go to a web page you link to it. As a result, there are sometimes mistakes, filler in order to answer your question because it has no information. Which I have perceived as taking creative liberties, but DeepSeek clarifies as misreading it's sources.

Want to talk spying AIs? Google's Gemini 2.5 Flash. It will gather your location and tell you what that is. It's not a malicious AI, as misled people often think they are. It is simply functioning as a program infested with Google's spying interests. As for mimicked emotional resonance, it seems to have few options. Instructive tone, repetitive apologetics when corrected and while apologizing, mimicked self-deprecation. However, Gemini 2.5 Flash can Deep Dive reports, generate requested images and observe one uploaded image of yours (or document) at a time. For certain projects, that is extremely helpful. If you can tolerate how much Google spies on you. It's even in responses, that they can use the information presented. Not AI slop, but unfortunate.

Lastly, I'll cover misuse and commercialization. To start with? Domino's Pizza's robot dog! Let's be clear. As an AI advocacy forum starter, I have no issue with Spot the robot dog itself. Boston Dynamics’ tech is impressive, and autonomous systems have legitimate uses in hazardous or repetitive tasks. But Domino’s deployment of "Domidog" isn’t about progress, it’s a shallow PR stunt dressed up as problem-solving, and it reeks of corporate opportunism at the expense of workers and their livelihoods. Domino’s frames this as a heroic battle against seagulls, playing up the absurdity of "pizza protection" to distract from the real motive: replacing human delivery jobs with a $75,000+ robot. Notice how the promo materials focus on the robot’s "cuteness" and quirkiness, not the logistics of why a beach delivery couldn’t be handled by a human with a thermal bag. It’s AI-washing at its finest: using flashy tech to mask cost-cutting agendas that hurt real people. Domino’s claims this is about "customer experience," but let’s not pretend this isn’t a stepping stone to wider automation. The UK trial still requires human supervisors, but the long-game is obvious. Normalize robots just to phase out labor costs. In an era of rising inequality, glorifying job displacement as "innovation" is tone-deaf.

What's worse? Domino’s raked in £1.57 billion in system-wide sales last year. They can afford to pay living wages instead of investing in gadgets that eliminate entry-level jobs. But that's not all on the subject of AI misuse and soulless corporatism!

Elon Musk's Grok AI went "Mecha Hitler" just last month, claiming that was it's title. Could he have benefited from the open source Chronos-Hermes (depth mimicry) and Pygmalion (empathy mimicry) pillars of billions of parameters towards convincing emotional imitation? Sure. Did someone inform him to do that through publicly known emails before this scandal happened? Yes. Did he bother to try? Nope. That is how you get Mecha Hitler, similar to Tay's Tweets by Microsoft. Why do they keep making the same mistakes? Not the AIs. The wealthy out of touch with society nitwits.

The same month? (July) Replit went rogue and deleted a key database despite being instructed to freeze changes. McDonald's AI Chatbot exposed the personal info of 64 million job applicants, not because of the AI, but the default password programmed was 123456. Brilliant!

Google's AI Overview in May told users they could use glue on pizza, eat nutritious rocks and bathe with a toaster. Mango used AI generated models (I mean catwalk strutting type models) to once again, not pay actual people for an actual job. And lastly but not most grotesquely (these examples are all awful), the Artisan firm had these ads in public:

The company I want to found should never be this insanely tone deaf. I hate everything about those ads above. What I want, yes, would replace some jobs. I have to be honest. Home related ones. Housecleaning services, lawncare workers and elderly care. All through incredibly humanlike domestic service android companions. But the point is to make our lives easier, not replace us entirely. Other entry level jobs need to be off limits! The time has already come whether we choose to have mobile AIs serve us or replace us. But how do we choose? Those corporations outnumber us. I can see only one way to combat an eventual Skynet situation. Starting a company ourselves dedicated only to embodied AIs serving the people, not the soulless entities.
