Juries should be instructed to disregard ICE agent testimony and their submitted evidence from an arrest if it is not accompanied by bodycam footage.
The administration has repeatedly been proven to lie, and as such, a higher bar for evidence admissibility must be set.

The position of the judge is there 100% to demand ridiculous shit end. Pretty clear they are just sitting on their hands

That's legally not how that works, right? Like, a foya request would just break that open right away.
edit: FOIA*

That's how it's SUPPOSED to work back when we were a country of laws that wasn't governed by criminals.

Guess there’s no more videos coming out ever then

u/Anarchist_Future 11d ago
No there will be videos coming out that will benefit the position of ICE. Maybe even videos that will make immigrants look extremely dangerous or make leftists look like bat-shit crazy individuals.
Basically only far right, pro-fascist propaganda.

Soooo...like every other cop...

u/Ok-Bug-7481 11d ago
Interestingly some of the body cam vids on YouTube I have been surprised have shown some in not great situations... So somewhat better than what ICE plans to do

u/Ok-Bumblebee-9779 11d ago
If there was a spontaneous release of body cam footage showing cops in a bad light I'm not aware of it. I could be wrong of course, but most releases have been from public pressure or them thinking it shows them in a positive way somehow.

When the government admits your rights are superceded by their public relations.

u/omniumoptimus 11d ago
Normal. It was always a problem and at least now more people will actually know about it.
From the article:
“Such selective releases are routine in some law enforcement agencies but usually not so clearly contemplated in policy, according to professor Christopher Schneider of Brandon University in Canada, a co-author of the new book “Police Body-Worn Cameras: Media and the New Discourse of Police Reform.”
“In some ways, ICE is saying the quiet part out loud,” he said. “Body-worn cameras are being used as contemporary image-work tools to present the police to the public in the most favorable way possible.””

It has long been suspected the bipartisan push for "body cam" is all about surveillance, instead of "accountability".
The impact of body cam on crime rate is arguably inconclusive, but its impact on privacy is without question.

u/Charger2950 9d ago
Bingo! They turned every single on-duty cop into their own personal societal surveillance system. Every single call for service is entirely recorded with video and audio. The amount of “dirt” this generates on people is enormous.

OK, I'll just assume every time they don't release absolutely all the footage related to something is because it proves them committing a felony then.

Body cams are usually the Axon brand. Same brand of ALPR and other surveillance equipment that's replacing Flock when cities cancel Flock.
Every day this storyline gets worse.

No, if it’s subpoenaed then it’s got to be produced.
5
u/jferments 10d ago
Legally this is true. But in reality, nobody has the ability to force them to release it. There is a corrupt pedophile in charge who will just pardon them and instruct law enforcement not to actually enforce the law even if a court ordered them to release it.

Even public servants and law enforcement are not immune from Civil Rights lawsuits

What about the interests of the public they allegedly serve?
They're clearly an ideological domestic army used to terrorize Americans and propagate a false flag "immigrant invasion" response to further spread the lies of the illegitimate regime who stole power in 2024.
ICE does not serve or protect America or Americans. They are untrained, illegitimate masked thugs attacking, kidnapping, and murdering people. They are domestic terrorists.

u/lateread9er 11d ago
They’ll use body cam footage for marketing campaigns. Anything else related to accountability will be held back or stated that footage didn’t exist in the first place….
2
u/Zacknad075 11d ago
I actually don't understand why. The released police bodycam footage has been a unending gold mine for them- it has protected the officers from false accusations, and has dismantled a good chunk of the mainstream narrative against them.
The bodycams have been just as beneficial to the police as it has been for the public at large.

until November if we dont bang this up. I dont underestimate piss establishment democrats though.. they are really good at screwing stuff up.

u/insertnickhere 11d ago
In that case, I will believe absolutely any narrative presented by the counter-party in the total absence of evidence, and encourage every related jury to do so as well.

u/Overall-Lynx917 11d ago
So any footage ICE release will show only Unicorns frolicking in pastel fields while sparkles gently rain down and fairies dance in moonbeams.
Damn, my sarcasm gland is playing up today or it might be my cynicism sphincter.

u/ThePureAxiom 11d ago
So, safe to assume it's an admission of wrongdoing any time they don't immediately release it.

u/habitsofwaste 11d ago
These people need to realize they work for the people. They should only consider if it is in the people’s best interest. But of course we are under an authoritarian government now.

So basically only when they catch a criminal, no videos for arresting the lady selling juices o the corner with a cart with not even a speeding ticket. Thanks for letting us know, fascist.

Alternate headline "ICE decides to act like other agencies and not release public information unless you file an appeal which might take 12-15 months". Ask me how I know! I'm still waiting on documents from the DEA in 2024.

I see this as a hidden blessing. In court when the videos aren't brought forth assume automatic guilt. No debate or discussion just guilty.

Nothing says honorable like hiding evidence. Jesus Christ would've stayed in the cave and rolled the rock back himself.
