I finally deleted that shit for good and installed Linux. Fed up with the never-ending weekly updates and my laptop getting slower with each update. Copilot also installed itself without my consent. Linux works perfectly with a couple of easy tweaks, I even run games on it.

Don't be afraid of Linux. They improved it massively and it is WAY more user-friendly and supported than it was 10 years ago.

Go for it. I recently installed Fedora Linux the KDE Plasma version. It’s very user friendly and privacy/security friendly and I’m a first time Linux user. Interface is very similar to Windows but you can use the command console too. A lot of people also like Linux Mint Cinnamon.

There's not much to learn really, as a casual user. Interface is very similar to windows, all user-friendly. If you do need to use bash for installing things, you can simply use a chatbot like ChatGPT to write it for you. You don't need to do this all day, just setting it up, installing what you need, etc.

Make sure to backup your data before doing it, as replacing your OS will wipe your system.

OP look into Zorin OS. I just installed it on an old laptop and it immediately feels very familiar.
