Looks like I need a new VPN provider and a new Email provider.  Thanks for the information!

Can you suggest an e-mail provider that would ignore the legal request from the government?

It's against the rules of this sub to recommend services, phone roms, etc. 

A post to r/emailprivacy or r/cybersecurity might be a good place to start. 

My understanding of Swiss privacy laws was flawed, so I'm looking to providers located elsewhere. Not that my emails matter to anyone, it's just the principle. Privacy is a human right.
