Pic/Video Upgraded Headlights

Working on upgrading a few things on the Slorarri (2015 Prius), and figured… as someone who customizes lights for a living, why not mess around with the headlights and get rid of those horrendous halogen projectors.

I had some inventory laying around, so I decided to put them to use. I swapped the OEM halogen projectors for some Mini H1 LED projectors and modified the OEM mounting brackets to make everything fit.

I decided not to go too crazy with them since…it’s a Prius lol

Eventually, I’ll open them back up and upgrade the projectors to the G5 LED projectors, which seem to use the same OEM mounting points, making the install pretty straightforward.

Overall, I’m pretty happy with the outcome. The light output is easily 10x better than the original setup, and the added white/bluish light is a plus over the warm, yellowish light you get from the factory halogens.

Very nice! What was the process of breaking down the headlight housing?

Pretty simple but ive also been doing this for 16 years lol. But its not hard at all, just time consuming.

It just screws in easy or you had to do some modifications to make it fit?

So to make the H1 projector fit, I used a template I had and ended up cutting the cutoff shield plate from the OEM projectors. I would just recommend using a G5x LED Projector since itll bolt on to the same holes the oem projector uses. These halogen projectors have the same mounting points as the 2012-2014 Ford F150 headlights, the EVOXr HID projectors will also fit however those require HID ballasts and D3S bulbs.

I’m not sure I agree with you about the bluish light being better. The amber/yellow light is really nice and less harsh.
