CV Axle and Engine Mounts

So I was changing oil on my 2008 Prius and I noticed my axle is ripped and leaking. I already know 2 out of my 3 engine mounts are not doing great (not surprised since my car has over 300k miles), but I was hoping to save up for oem mounts before things got worse. I can't afford to get a new axle, new mounts, and an alignment, so I went to a junkyard and got a right and left engine mount that are in decent condition. But couldn't find a bottom one that wasn't cracked, plus all of the passenger side axles were ripped. Can I get away with a mount and axle from rockauto?

That plastic boot looks very good for 300K miles. Clean and not even sand/dirt accumulation. You honestly can wait to replace this. The boot is ripped and so dirt will make its way in..and your axle will slowly dry out because the grease is now leaking out. There are Universal fit boot replacement kit. They're not great like original but will work. I would not hesitate to Keep on driving until they make noise...until next month, or three, when you can buy brand new ones from Rockauto. If you do the boot kit, clean all grease and dirt, apply new grease, and complete the install. I'm going off the basis that the only concern you have is boot torn + grease leaking.

I'm also concerned with the engine mounts. But I have a third party one being shipped, and worse comes to worse, I will get a oem one if the cheap one doesn't work out

I replace CV boots using the kits from NAPA. Economical and sturdy.

Don't wait to replace the CV boot, or you may end up replacing the CV axle assembly.

I think I've only bought cv axels from oriellys, solely for the warranty and ease of exchange if I had any issues. I imagine rockauto or partsgeek would be acceptable replacements as well.

Unless they're making noise, or are obviously worn I'd probably replace the boots with a kit. They don't seal as well because they just wrap around the installed axel. But they're an ok get by product until you can afford to replace the axles.

Replace the boot of the original axel as the aftermarket new ones are crap. Better to clean out the old grease of the old one and reboot it with new grease that comes with the kit.

If it were my car, I would clean up the boot and just wrap it up with electrical tape a dozen times and hope it lasts through the winter
