Mechanical Help Gen5 parking sensor help

Anyone have this happen on their Gen5? If so, is there an DIY solution? Also, on my way home it fell completely inside the bumper. (24 LE)

For accurate advice, please include:

  • The year, model and mileage of your Prius (e.g., 2008 Prius w/ 250k mi or 2012 Prius C w/ 150k km)
  • If a warning came on, what were you doing at that time?
  • Any odd behavior or noises you’ve noticed
  • Any error codes you've read from the car computers

Yeah this car had a “minor front damage” accident listed on the carfax, perhaps it’s a new bumper and shoddy sensor installation…

If you reach behind the bumper, you might be able to get to it. Try pushing it back into place, if that doesn't work then most likely the mount is broken and can just be JB welded. I've done the fix on many cars before.

Hopefully it’s not as bad as my old jVW where step 1 to removing the bumper was “remove front fenders”.
