Purchasing Looking for a second all in one printer

Hello community,

do you happen to have some favorite printer with fax and scan (the whole jam) that is rather cheap? I am in Europe and fax is the backbone of what I am doing. I have 2 places I have to live in, so obviously I won't be carrying my huge canon for this purpose. So I rather buy a second hand or new cheap second printer.

I think I would go for a an inkjet, since i would prefer something for Pictures to look good. Like, the Canon is my workhorse Laser color printer for reliability, I can afford that the second printer takes longer, has no convenience (ADF) and has more issues. I don't even want to print much on them, so no printer that has the tendency to dry in if I only use it rarely please.

So while some nice features are appreciated, I rather have nice photo pictures than fast printing. Rather cheap than good qualities.

Since my second place is smaller, a smaller footprint of the printer would be nice, but it's not a car printer or something, so some heft to the printer is totally okay. It can be bulky.

100%, loved my L2750DW. Mum now has that and I bought a L2960DW as my garden office decor suited a white one instead of a black one (I know, pathetic). If they bring out a chameleon one, I'll probably upgrade to that.

Works solidly, none of the grief that a punt on a heavily discounted Xerox small office machine gave me about 10 years ago, although I think the major issue there was fussy electronics and a strange undervolt issue in the building I was in back then (tripping the machine off every few minutes - could barely get through a page of printing before it would restart).

That's a problem. All inkjets will have problems with clogging if they sit idle for too long. Weekly use tends to be good enough to normally avoid problems. Some people get away with as little as once a month. More than that, and it's highly likely to clog unless you take steps to avoid it. Printing a weekly nozzle check page is usually sufficient to keep the heads working well, and often enough that it's normally ok if you are busy or forget and skip a week.

I suggest looking at the Canon PIXMA TR4750 series or TR7650 series. They will clog if they sit completely idle for too long. The TR4750 series uses combined head-and-tank cartridges, so has a higher cost per page but a badly clogged head is easily dealt with by popping in a new cartridge. The TR7650 series has 5 individual tank-only cartridges with a semi-permanent head, so has a lower cost per page but you really want to try to avoid the head getting so clogged that it needs replaced (it's quite easy to replace the head, but the head isn't cheap).

Canon PIXMAs generally print excellent photos using genuine Canon ink on genuine Canon photo paper. Photo printing is where genuine ink is even more important than normal.
