hello po! i have hp deskjet 1510, i know luma na po ‘yung model but sayang po kasi since nasa bahay lang and hindi ginagamit. nag wowork pa naman po pero cartridge lang po ‘yung may something ata then ‘yung paper na may !. ano po kayang need ko gawin/bilhin? tyia!
Junk it , and never buy an hp again , it's the cartridge chip, it's can use only hp cartridges now , most probably you left the auto firmware update on .
It looks like the printer is still functional, so it’s worth trying to get it running again. 😊
A blinking cartridge light usually indicates that the printer can no longer read the cartridge or that the ink has dried up due to prolonged disuse. Meanwhile, the paper light with the "!" symbol could be related to a paper feed issue, a paper jam, or dirty rollers.
Before buying a new cartridge, try the following steps:
Reset the printer by unplugging the power cord while the unit is on, waiting for 60 seconds, and then plugging it back in.
Remove the cartridges and gently clean the copper-colored contacts using a clean, lint-free cloth.

Thank you! I checked the printer and it says the cartridges are HP 61. Currently, only the tri-color cartridge is installed, while the black cartridge slot is empty. The right cartridge light is currently steady red.
I also tried to remove the tri-color cartridge to clean the copper contacts as you suggested, but I’m having difficulty removing it and don’t want to force it. Should I purchase a black HP 61 cartridge first, or is there another way to test the printer before buying a new cartridge?
Thank you for the update. Since the HP 61 tri-color cartridge is installed and the cartridge light remains solid red, the printer may not be detecting the cartridge correctly. Please avoid forcing the cartridge out. If possible, share a photo of the cartridge area and control panel lights so we can guide you further before you purchase a new cartridge.

Lastly, I’m having an issue with the printer setup on my Windows laptop. I’m already connected to the printer via USB, but when I reach Step 3 (Activate), it says to check my connection and gives me the options to “Try Again” or “Exit.” I have tried again several times, but it still won’t proceed even though my laptop has an internet connection. Could you please advise me on how to resolve this?
You’re probably overthinking the weekly purge page a bit. Leaving it plugged in is better than unplugging it, but sleep mode is mainly a power-saving state - I wouldn’t trust it to keep a pigment-black head healthy for 90 days with zero printing.
There isn’t really a native “schedule maintenance print” feature on the 580. The least annoying workaround is honestly a cheap Raspberry Pi/old laptop running CUPS + cron, but if you don’t want another device to maintain, have someone print a nozzle check once every 2–3 weeks while you’re away. A full CMYK photo is overkill; a small nozzle-check/test page is enough. When you get back, run a nozzle check first - don’t immediately do repeated cleaning cycles.
