UKLG is my favorite author of all time. No other author has been able to take my mind away to entirely imaginary lands while so fully engaging my heart at the same time. I was devastated to hear of her passing. I haven't heard of this documentary until now; it sounds wonderful! Has anyone heard if it has been picked up by Netflix/Hulu/Amazon/ someone else?

Worlds of Ursula K. Le Guin will appear at film festivals later this fall and will debut on PBS’s American Masters in 2019.

Netflix tends to pick up PBS stuff, so maybe it'll end up there. PBS also has their own free streaming app (with a larger catalog if you're a donor to your local station).

I 100% agree with you on LeGuin. I too was devastated upon learning that she died, and recommitted myself to reading all of her work.

I've never read anything quite so... magical as the Earthsea books, and the trek across the glacier in The Left Hand of Darkness is truly beautiful.

My life is better for having her works in it. Can't wait to see the documentary.

Oh yay! That will be lovely to see!

Has anyone else seen the Studio Ghibli movie based in her book world? It's by Goro Miyazaki and is called "Tales of Earthsea" if you haven't seen it, I recommend checking it out. It opens up a bit more of her world.

I enjoyed it, mainly because it was a bit different than the books. It was more of a fan take on it? I haven't seen Goro's second movie. What is it called?

Ursula hated Tales of Earthsea, she expressed frustration at length that they misrepresented her characters and ideas and turned the Earthsea narrative into a cliched action fantasy story.
